CZECHS WRITING OWN SECOND AMENDMENT
Jun 29th, 2017 at 6:40am

Quote:
CZECHS WRITING OWN SECOND AMENDMENT TO COMBAT ISLAMIC TERROR

The Czech Republic is on track to re-enact constitutional gun rights in response to recent terror attacks and the migrant crisis in Europe.

The Czech lower chamber approved a bill on Wednesday to strengthen gun ownership not long after the Eastern European country strengthened its border security to repel an influx of Muslim migrants.

Both actions are in defiance of the EU which is pressuring member-states to take in more migrants and tighten their gun control laws.  Shocked

The bill recognizes the rights of citizens to use their privately-owned firearms to defend the security of the country, and the Czech Republic is already one of the most gun friendly countries in Europe.

“This constitutional bill is in reaction to the recent increase of security threats, especially the danger of violent acts such as isolated terrorist attacks… active attackers or other violent hybrid threats,” the bill stated.

The bill now heads to the Czech upper chamber where, once approved, it will go to President Milos Zeman for his signature.

Zeman is expected to sign; the bill was his brainchild,

“Earlier I spoke often about limiting the ability to have large quantities of weapons. But after the terrorist attacks, I have changed the idea,” he said at the time.

The EU’s European Commission spent the past several months drafting stricter gun rules opposed by the Czech Republic, Luxembourg and Poland.

Zeman also spearheaded the sealing of the Czech border to combat illegal immigration alongside nearby Hungary, which has reportedly electrified its double-sided fence on the Hungarian-Serbian border despite demands from the EU to stand down.

This open defiance of the EU by Eastern European nations reveals the crumbling influence the unelected bureaucracy has on member-nations.

Mechanic,

Here in Australia, it is not lawful for an ordinary citizen to [make preparation to] have or to use any object as a weapon.

True.

e.g.
If you were to have a mattock handle beside your bed, in your own bedroom, and if [during a search of your home] a police officer discovered that mattock handle and asked you why you had the mattock handle there,           ......if you told the police officer that you had the mattock handle there for 'protection' at night [in case of a home invasion],          the police officer would certainly confiscate the mattock handle, and he may even charge you for holding it there, for that purpose.

True.

You see......
Our own government(s) want to retain to itself [exclusively], the right to kill people [i.e. in self defence].

n.b.
The police [and other armed agents of the government], are the servants and protectors of government [i.e. the political state].

The police have no legal obligation, or legal responsibility, for the protection [from malicious harm] of any individual citizen.

e.g.
If you receive threats of harm, from a particular identified source, the police 'service' are under no legal obligation to protect you,
......unless of course, if you were someone like, a government minister.

Q.
Do you, as a peaceable and law abiding citizen believe that our government(s) should have the right, to prevent you from effectively defending yourself and your loved ones, from violent criminals.

Well, many people apparently are OK with that circumstance.

Quote:

"Right is only in question between equals, and while the strong do what they can, the weak suffer what they must."

- Thucydides (460-400 B.C.) Greek Historian

[this opinion came out of America]
It is NOT the function of the police to protect you.

The Supreme Court of the United States has said this more than once.

Without the ability to protect ourselves, we are?
......helpless slaves.

The Czech republic is ranked the 6th safest country in the world, they allow concealed carry along with all the guns the bed wetting hoplophobes want banned. The Czechs make some pretty good guns.

New Zealand hasn't had a mass shooting since 1997 despite allowing all the semi auto rifles and shotguns we banned in 1996, it's easier to buy a sound moderator (silencer for the dim wits) in NZ than the USA.

NZ is ranked number 2 for safest countries in the world despite allowing semi auto rifles with sound moderators, the bed wetting hoplophobes ignore this fact they point to the USA to use fear to push gun grabbing despite the fact our culture is closer to NZ than the USA.

I will ask a question that always reveals to true feelings of pro-gun advocates. It works every time.

"Japan has some of the strictest gun-control laws in the world and they have among the lowest homocide rate in the world (and no, more people aren't killed by samurai swords), why?"

Where does Japan rank on this list and why are so many countries with high gun ownership safer than Japan?

Homicide rate per 100K

Australia- 0.98
Czech republic- 0.75

We don't allow people to have weapons for self defence, the Czech's allow concealed carry for self defence.

This article hardly tells us anything. What is 'peace score'? How is it calculated?

I'm referring to homocide statistics - i.e. people being killed. Look up homocide rates.

The question that really needs to be asked is why are there countries with great laxity in gun ownership safer that Australia?

Because that seem incongruous to every anti-gun hysteric's mantra, does it not?

Safest Countries

12. Australia - 1.425
11. Japan - 1.408
10. Ireland - 1.408
9. Switzerland - 1.373
8. Canada - 1.371
7. Slovenia - 1.364
6. Czech Republic - 1.360
5. Denmark - 1.337
4. Austria - 1.265
3. Portugal - 1.258

More lax gun laws

Not one but at least three countries are safer than us and do not have the draconian bullsh1t gun laws we have.

Why is that?

BigOl, I've read the article. It equates each country with a peace score. How is this score calculated?

What I care about and what most people care about is the number of persons murdered in a country. Provide me with real statistics - i.e. homicide statistics, not some arbitrary peace score.
