What you personally are bothered by or arent bothered by is completely irrelevant although I highly doubt you have ever been in an armed or physical confrontation in your life, the fact remains, California law is quite clear, the home owner acted in self defense. You remain owned.

I've never needed to defend myself from people running away from me as fast as they can.
