The gross technical ignorance of the Greenie types is well known and expected. That is why nobody believes anything they come out with.

It takes about 7 Tesla lithium batteries just waiting to catch fire on the wall of your house to recharge a Tesla car overnite.

Getting a flat battery in an electric car is a major disaster in a remote area. It is the fear that every electric car driver always lives with.

The battery in a Tesla car is quite large and takes hours to recharge with a mains charger.

You can't just call the NRMA and get a jump start. A very expensive tow to somewhere that has mains power is required after waiting hours for someone to show up.

The battery capacity is always the major drawback in any electric vehicle particularly in trucks. And then the recharge time is the other drawback.

On the TV is a show of outback truckers hauling 50 tonne loads and more for 1000's of kms thru Australia's outback. Even a Greenie might realize an electric truck would be useless for this sort of work. But then the Greenie would probably say all it needs is some solar panels on the roof!!!

Hydrogen is a far more practical source of power as it can be quickly refueled just like LPG. Producing the hydrogen requires a bit more research. Hydrogen is a non-polluting renewable resource. Hydrogen can be produced by electrolysis.

Both electric and hydrogen need infrastructure of course.

The life of a battery in an electric car is a matter of major concern as it is very expensive to replace. The moral is NEVER EVER buy a second hand electric car!!!!

An electric car is too expensive but would be OK for travelling to and from work with a recharge overnite but long distance trips to nowheresville are strictly out!!!!

The other drawback with electric cars is the filthy dirty poisonous radio active manufacturing process to produce the batteries and the magnets in the electric motors.

All this dreadful technical stuff will be all Greek to the armchair arm waving Greenie types scouring the Greenie web sites.

There are numerous things that go wrong with electric cars as they have highly complex electronics which do go wrong.

But the chance of getting a flat battery in an electric car is guaranteed at some time - all it takes is not watching the battery reserve. And because of the hours off the road while recharging there is the temptation to push your luck.

The chances of a mechanical breakdown in a well maintained petrol car is rather remote unless it is knocked around.

Hydrogen is the fuel of the future as it is quick refueling and totally clean exhaust.

There is one academic thought with hydrogen as the exhaust is water vapor it will create effectively clouds of water vapor in the sky which will inhibit heat transfer.

Tesla EV won't allow you to drain the battery below a certain point and it will direct you to the nearest charging station using its GPS. Only a moron like yourself couldn't follow the directions and allow the battery to discharge to those levels.
