For pork sausages you need 20% fat or they are dry and tasteless.

Yeah.

I use my supermarket for Paris Creek milk, butter & yoghurt, sometimes some icecreams, buy the mince for the dog (alternate that with chicken necks) sometimes some Kettle crisps, the plain salted kind and that’s it for food, really.

Try the butcher's where they sell bags of cut-offs for $3 only.

I do.

Tinned Spaghetti Sauce has minced meat in it, and Coles' 'Country Style' sausages make for good eatin' with American-style mustard.

’Erbert has heard of delicious and nutritious food and decided he wants nothing to do with it.

I know Paris Creek milk well, it's pretty close to the old milk in milk bottles with two inches of cream on the top, I don't shake it I drink it in a gulp or try to get it in my morning coffee.

There's only this one kind of sausage I buy - 'country style' sausages. The others are so stuffed with road kill they make me retch.

The good old days when milk in a glass bottle was put on your door-step by the Milko ... and then a bird would come and peck through the silver or gold foil and lick up some of the cream at the top.

We had a cat that would burgle the milk.

You could not do that now, some sphincter would poison your milk in a terrorist act

I remember glass bottles here but don’t think that lasted much longer. I had a job helping a baker on his rounds (some of the things I experienced on that round! One house you could smell the piss (urine) from the front gate, another house the woman had a glass eye or “wall eye” so one eye would look at me, the other would be looking in a totally different direction) but bakers rounds didn’t last much longer either.
