ACtually he cant. Israel provided the intelligence but did not give permission to share it with others. That means Trump did not have the right to do so. Now. Israel and other allies know that they cannot trust the USA with intelligence. And now, intelligence agencies will no longer share everything they have with the orange russian-agent.

Well, it seems that there was a sharing of information, unclassified information, but a sharing nevertheless.

Is this new?

No, most probably not, but the security around this meeting was probably haphazard, or too loose at best, enabling a preventable feeding frenzy based on leaked information to happen.

Most probably in the past similar meetings took place, & similar information was passed freely, with purpose......the President having the full authority to declassify anything he wishes........& the world would never know about it because the security around those meetings was tight enough to keep whatever transpired within the meeting to never go anywhere other than the ears of that meeting's participants.

So now, will the world come to an end......will famine grip Europe......will the Middle East become a more dangerous place.......will the search for cures for infectious diseases come to a grinding halt.....will invasions from outer space by three eyed, green aliens become more likely?

I sincerely doubt it, but one thing I know for sure.......the next time similar meetings like this are planned, there will be a "dome of secrecy" unlike any other in place to avert all this silliness, & those responsible for this dome will be held highly accountable to the President.

If there was supposed to be stronger security measures in place to prevent leakage this time around, I guarantee more than pink slips would have been flying for sure!

No I said the President has broad authority to declassify material. In terms of classified material, if he declassifies it it's not longer revealing classified material.

As I said, that's not the issue, the release of classified material per se, but the consequence of revealing information as it pertains to putting in danger the source of the information or jeopardizing future relations with allies and their willingness to share intel is an issue.
