Neither of you are in any position to be giving advice.  I understand the public displays of pride, but hope for your sake youre taking steps to overcome the self inflicted fog of ignorance in private.

The best teachers i ever had, i thought were assholes at the time.  You too will come to thank me for my patience, though only within the safety of your own private thoughts.

I thank you, Honky. The best teachers I had were very nice at the time, but that's just me.

You assume that because you are prejudiced, then naturally, that must be the default position for everyone else. It simply doesn't occur to you that people can be open-minded, objective and analytical.

Prejudices, interests and biases drive everyone. This becomes more apparent in the social sciences because these topics usually revolve around discussions of values and morals. As has been stated, if you cannot recognise your own interests and biases, then you shouldn't be lecturing others.

See how your reflexive emotional response to me prevents you from accepting truth?

Never done any serious reading on thinking, have you Honky?

Philosophy just passed you by, right?

It is philosophical. The elephant and rider analogy is heavily influenced by Plato's chariot and rider analogy.

Ahh... The Phaedrus!

He is very good.

The Conservatives want to discuss things with you, the Progressives want to coerce and shut you up.

You're free to speak anytime on here Frank.

That's not what Brian would say if he had the power to enforce his idea of freedom: you are free to speak what he thinks is right.

Strange, you say exactly the same thing to him.

No one has the right to not be offended, no?

This topic (and much more) is covered in this excellent podcast.

I listen to a lot of joe rogans podcasts but Jordan Petersons first appearance was the only one I listened to twice.  (The posted vid is his second appearance, and I'm only halfway through it).  His speaking is so information dense and his clarity of thought is excellent, making this an absolute must hear.

And there is your problem. You listen to clowns like Joe Rogan.

He talks some rubbish but he's OPEN MINDED. Are you?

Yes,  and although most of his guests are raving lefties, and he also identifies as one,  i like that hes willing to call out their shity behaviour when he sees it, and to have guests that he doesnt agree with.

MSM could learn a lot about non-partisanship from him, and thats probably a big reason why Rogans podcasts draw in a bigger audience than they do.

I'd say he doesn't identify as left or right, but like me he's a 'cherry picker'.

Thought I seen you somewhere:

I tried to read the lead article: wow about a 1,000 words saying that the author is mad as a hatter.

Funny topic to bring up when we have a conservative government in place which has done more to restrict free speech than any previous government we have had.

Thats OK Dna.

The article was pitched to those intelligent, inquiring minds that want a possible reason why the left is acting so bizarre. Your lack of comprehension is another.
