Finished his 2nd podvast yesterday.

It wad all very good, the thing that stuck in my mind the most:

"We're living in a chaotic time, and in times of chaos, the truth is our sword and shield"

Paraphrased, but so very important now, when everything around us is so fake.

the problem is that you determine 'fake' as being information you dont like so your argument becomes worthless.

Youre so unoriginal.  I recall having this conversation with you...well more like a lecture...about how this is the default position of people - that reasoning a position comes after youve already emotionally decided your stance - backing it up with neuroscience and you dismissed it with extreme prejuduce.

Now it seems youve accepted it, but only so you can use it to insult and reinforce your own delusions.

Theres another poster here who is a lot like you, who also started repeating assessments of herself against others, and I dont think you like her very much.  I think its because youre too similar.  Shes like a mirror to you, which is understandable - i wouldnt like seeing you looking back at me from the mirror either.

The problem is that what I said is actually true.  You define 'fake news' much like Trump does ie negative information about him. And that is pretty much the only definition you (or Trump) uses. Yes, the news about Trump is dreadful and getting worse by the day, but it is all by his own hand. He actually says and does all these stupid things.

I am a conservative by nature who would more typically align with Republicans than Democrats politically, but I also have a brain and a sense of integrity that demands I oppose Trump. Trump isnt left or right or progressive or conservative. He is simply Trump where everything centres around  him and him alone.

Reality isnt getting worse, your perception is getting overwhelmed because your base emotional position keeps getting compounded upon. You never have time to get back to a normal baseline because theres another faux crisis manufactured each day.
The media machine will never get tired, but your brain sure will.  You need to let reason catch up before your neurochemistry gives out.

It always amuses me when Honky waxes "scientific" about cognitive bias. Seeing as he's so damned prejudiced. He has an incredibly closed mind. Dismisses out of hand anything that challenges his profoundly distorted values.

As for other people "claiming victory" over him, this is generally in response to his "claiming victory" first (despite being so often demonstrably wrong) ... usually accompanied by tremendous amounts of belittling and ludicrous assessments of his rivals feelings.

No wonder Honky and Longy don't like each other. There exchanges tend to rely upon telling each other how stupid they are, both utterly missing the cues that through concerted introspection, could lead to evolution of their debating techniques.

Ive never called longweekend stupid, in fact the only comment ive made on his intelligence is to say he is of above average intelligence.

I dont recall ever "claiming victory" either, though im sure im not the only one to notice that barely a day goes by where you dont.

Just another case of your emotional state casting shadows over your perception.

Forgiven.

No ability for self refection at all.

Must be because you are overwhelmed by your emotions.

Let me give you a little hint, Honky.

Assessing other poster's intelligence and relegating their input to emotion or cognitive bias is a not-so-subtle way of claiming "victory".

And it's about all you've got,.

See, that's what I was talking about.

Several people made the same assessment of your character based on your words and actions, yet you think they're equally valid if you just say "no, you are" to whomever upsets you.

Interestingly, I identified your "no you are" recurring thought pattern over a year ago, and far from being "demonstrably wrong" it just keeps being proven correct, time and time again.

Here we go with  the " claiming victory" through character assassination.

And with back-up now! "Several people" have noted it, so it must be true.

Honky's never wrong, even when he is, dontcha know.

He can always rely on telling you how you're feeling, assessing your IQ and accuse you of having formed your opinions through cognitive bias.

All the while resisting introspection. Even when his tendancies are clearly highlighted for him.

And what you neglect to consider is that I say this is how EVERYBODY forms their opinions, myself included.  Its just how the human brain operates.

The difference is I recognise my biases and account for them, while you deny they exist, so can never overcome them.

We've reached the assessment of intellectual agility part of the proceedings in which Honky quantifies the rest of the world in relation to himself.

I would say to do so with any authority, one would need to be adept at introspection ... but i digress.

You assume that because you are prejudiced, then naturally, that must be the default position for everyone else. It simply doesn't occur to you that people can be open-minded, objective and analytical. Much as you ascribe emotion to people as a reflection of your own state of being. Much like a child who thinks mushrooms must be yucky, simply because they don't like them.

You're patronising in the extreme, Honky. Ironically, with little to base you condescension upon.

See how your reflexive emotional response to me prevents you from accepting impartial truths?

Never done any serious reading on thinking, have you Honky?

Philosophy just passed you by, right?

A question. As a teenager, did you question the ideas and values you were raised with? If not, i suggest you start now.

Neither of you are in any position to be giving advice.  I understand the public displays of pride, but hope for your sake youre taking steps to overcome the self inflicted fog of ignorance in private.

The best teachers i ever had, i thought were assholes at the time.  You too will come to thank me for my patience, though only within the safety of your own private thoughts.
