How would you respond if....

1) the national language became French...

2)We adopted a presidential system of government...

3) We adopted the 13-month calendar....

4) We drove on the right-hand side of the road....

5) We adopted the American dollar as our currency....

Would you go crazy to the point of where you would need to be hospitalized, or would you be able to adapt?

My answer is that I would be able to adapt.... Salut!

Since none of these will happen, why is this a question?

Not resistant to positive change - been around long enough to know the difference - problem with Australia at this time is a lot of the changes need to be backwards first before we can go forward again.

Ok that's interesting. Please elaborate.

My answer would be to question the necessity. I am not into change just for change's sake. Prove to me its necessary and I'll be on board.

Id say there would be a solid need to resist stupidity, not so much change.  Smiley

its an interesting question.

as a rule, it is lefties that are always wanting to change things but , paradoxically, change nearly always brings some chaos and turmoil and it is the righties, the entrepreneurs, the engaged dynamic and diligent noble rightard who will make the most of the opportunity that this change brings.

so lefties shoot themselves in the foot when they try to change things because the durp state leftie just gets eaten by the dynamic rightard wolf during the chaos which ensues.

Neither, I'd question every change and if there was logical explanations for all of them and if there were I'd accept the change. What you are suggesting is that either you don't want change, or you just want to bend over and take change anally

The question is to determine how willing you are to accept and embrace change. The argument of whether or not the change is good or bad is a separate argument; if the person in question won't change full stop, then the second step is unnecessary.

Leftis want to the use the coercive power of the state to change society under the guise of social justice. Conservatives tend to focus more on individual liberty and freedom.

What would be the advantages of a 13 month calendar vs a 12 month one.

The 13 month calendar has exactly 28 days in each month. This would make calculating business cycles and periodical payments much more easier. It would also mean that events can be booked once and they will always fall on the same day whether it be one year from now or two years.

For e.g. the 19th of every month will always fall on a Thursday.
