It's the 'sharing it on the internet' bit that people get wound up over - see the opening post for example.

Garbage.  It was shared within a FB group!  These ten year olds are fully clothed.....nothing sexual about them.

But....DIL was a tad rebuked for using her own bloody camera to film her own Daughter my Grand-daughter so Family and friends could see the kid play.

That is a crap argument Effendi.

It is not an argument Aussie. It is why they were rebuked.

Apparently pedophiles have discovered facebook too.

Also, kids are entitled to the same privacy standards as adults. I'm sure you would not appreciate some stranger sharing a video of your goofy attempts at sport with all their friends.

Are you kidding? Every time I turn up to a kid's party, a wedding, a work morning tea, a team-building day, video footage of me getting water bombed, dancing to Duran Duran, clapping someone's farewell or losing the egg and spoon race gets uploaded onto Facebook. I have no say in it, and every gesture is recorded for prosperity.

The difference with the kids is they're used to it. If I could, I'd tell those arsehole friends and colleagues to get their mobiles out of my face, but what can you do?

I just smile and say ah.

There are pictures of my nieces in their swimsuits at a swim meet on my facebook feed.

Them and plenty of their peers.

You disagree with that?

Not at all. Why would i?

Perhaps the images could be used at a Trump rally.

Is that it?

They'd love that.

Or a group w@nk on one of Gordon's football trips to Dubbo.

They're not allowed to finger them anymore, you see.

I know I know, it's PC gone mad.

Well, FD seems to have a problem with it.

Maybe you could dress them in burqinis.

Simply gauging your opinion on the practice.  Personally I'm sensibly cautious but not paranoid.

I have never seen you bitch about MSM sport coverage......or of filming at a beach.

Why can't my DIL film her own daughter and show me on FaceBook?  Why can't she do it just to show Grand-daughter later on?

Far cough with the PC preciousness!

Did you ask the other parents permission before taking videos of their children and sharing with your strange friends?

Yes, dear, as is my 4 year old nephew.

The difference is, he enjoys it.

Good to see you speaking up for the kids, FD.

The non-tinted ones, anyway.

Are you serious?  I was recently filmed by Ch 7 and bunged on TV.....all without anyone asking me for permission.  And worse.....I was not in a public place!  It was a private meeting.  Basketball games are in public places, and filming/photographing anything there is bloody legal.  To try to stifle my DIL taking a film of her own daughter playing basketball in a public place is just insane.

Were there any other children shown in the video?

No, she was playing basketball all by herself.  Everyone does that Effendi.  Basketball is not a Team sport, and there is no opposing Team, Effendi.

I think I have solved the great mystery Aussie. Perhaps they were not objecting to her posting a video of her own daughter, but to her posting a video of other people's children.

No, Effendi.  That's just absurd.  Basketball is a one person game with no opposing Team.

You can't be serious.
