He sounds utterly ghastly

Police have appealed for anyone with information about a male described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, about 183cm tall with a bald head and full black beard.

The man was shirtless with tattoos on his chest and left hand, white ‘Adidas’ track-pants, no shoes and three gold teeth. The man carried a black knife with a serrated blade.

A 16-year-old boy has been stabbed in the cheek by a man after refusing his demands for cigarettes and money at a western Sydney park.

The boy entered a park between Veron and Lane streets in Wentworthville about 3.30pm on Tuesday when he became uneasy and tried to return to the main road, but he was confronted by a man.

When the teenager refused the demand for cigarettes and money the offender stabbed him in the cheek and then punched him.

The teenager was able to defend himself and throw a punch at his attacker.

When the offender attempted to stab the teenager again, the boy fled from the park while the offender fled in a southerly direction and jumped a fence near the canal.
