Pushed through university like chocolate Easter eggs on a conveyor belt. Mustn't be 'racist' by failing them. Too bone-bloody-idle to send the patient off to an imaging centre for a proper analysis. link

That's par for the course and an aspect of 'Multicultural Australia' that gets ignored by its proponents and celebrants like that poor bloody elephant-in-the-room.

I got shoved through to a Chinese ophthalmologist who wanted to charge me $6000 for cataract removals in a couple of years time ~ by a Chinese Optician at 'SpecSavers'.

The secret is to settle yourself in with an Australian GP who won't pass you around to compatriot ethnic medicos for them to shake you down like a naive tourist on holiday in the Third World.

Steer well clear of Chinese and Indians in the medical industry. They have no professional ethics at all.

Just wait til they need to send you to a specialist.

And frankly, I'm not living in India or China, and so I'd prefer a Western doctor who is thoroughly familiar with the cultural nuances and subtleties of Anglo-Western civilisation.

I'm tired of finding myself confronted with subcontinental aborigines and Chinese medicos every time I step out of my house to seek medical assistance for one reason or another.

WHERE are the Australian doctors?

Some are white, and born in the UK.

Overall, though, there are a lot of white Australian/British specialists here in Perth.

While there are a few Singhs and Wongs, there's also quite a few Halls, Davis, Lewis, Armstrongs, Ryans, Smiths, etc.

Not that the colour of their skin, or their place of birth, concerns me in the slightest.

But still, its only a 60% 5 year survival rate. I hope that because she is young, she is able to pull through okay.
