This thread is a prime example of the human condition and how a once logical discussion can so easily morph into a battle of egos that nobody gives a crap about.

Should we expect more of our leaders?

It's the majority of "us" that voted for them isn't it?

Do they reflect "us", or is it better that they don't quite reflect "us"?

Well you know how to bring about a laugh if that helps any. Or I may be able to go a few inches more..haha.

But that's just the human condition. We all have our needs and wants. We don't want to vote for somebody that doesn't display that humanness and we need them to somehow be above that failure that we all experience.
It's not really possible IMO. The nukes have had control over us mortals ever since their inception.

Not only do we need to remember to take our mobile phones along with us everywhere, we need to appease the nukes as well Angry

Do you really think you can spot a despot? Even as a child?

I mean, i know what you are saying but i wonder .. not only can a bully be diverted from a path of bullying but can an ordinary person be turned into a bully through circumstance?

I get in the case of Kim Jong-un or Donald Trump, they were born into a certain kind of privilege that lends itself to egotism and control ... but surely that isn't the whole story.

I purport that there needs to be a "perfect storm" of factors to create a despot. And that that isn't always identifiable in childhood.

I avoided those type of people as a child, but as an adult, somehow I got trapped into having them as "friends" for want of a better word.

Now I'm reverting back to my original choices of friends.

People don't seem to change very much IMO. Their "formative years" have formed them and they are pretty much bound by that forevermore.

not sure it was intended the female of the species should be doing the killing as well as the male..

do you think we are meant to be equal on the killing fields capito?...seems to me eventually Nth Korean women could lose all interest in procreation....

after all we have an in built instinct to keep our young alive... not to expect them to die on the b attle field..

I can only believe it is compulsory for all nth Korean females to don the uniform...... a bit like commie girl guides.. Roll Eyes
