As US lawmakers demand social media companies show how their platforms were allegedly used by Russia to meddle in the 2016 election, WikiLeaks co-founder tweeted emails that show Facebook executives in direct communication with one candidate’s team.
Beginning on October 7 last year, WikiLeaks published hundreds of emails from the private account of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta. The daily drops continued for a couple days after the November 8 election.

On Thursday, as US media were speculating about “Russian” meddling on Twitter, Facebook and Reddit, Julian Assange tweeted some of the Podesta emails with a reminder that the social network’s leading lights were Clinton fans.

In an email from early January 2016, Podesta wrote to Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, saying that he was excited to work with her on getting Clinton elected.

“Look forward to working with you to elect the first woman President of the United States,” Podesta wrote. Sandberg replied she was “thrilled” by the progress that Clinton was making.

In February 2015, Podesta was copied on an email from Clinton aide Cheryl Mills, who said she had arranged for Sandberg and her researcher to visit the office and “step through the research on gender and leadership by women.”

That visit took place one hour before a “main meeting” concerning Clinton.

In June 2015, Sandberg wrote an email to Podesta, saying she would “still want HRC to win badly.”

“I am still here to help as I can. She came over and was magical with my kids,” Sandberg wrote.

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO and founder of Facebook, sent a personal email to Podesta in August 2015, saying he enjoyed spending time with him, and that their conversation gave him “a lot to think about.”

Zuckerberg thanked Podesta for sharing his experiences with the Center for American Progress (CAP), a Democratic think tank founded by Podesta.

Included in the thread was an email to Podesta from Elliot Schrage, the vice president of communications at Facebook, who said Zuckerberg was looking for a way to “direct his wealth to have an impact as great as Facebook” adding that Podesta’s ideas had “really moved his thinking.”

Zuckerberg then asked Podesta if he could reach out in the future to hear his ideas and said he was looking forward to continuing their conversation.

“I hope it’s okay if I reach out as my thinking develops to get your ideas and reactions,” Zuckerberg said. “If there are any other folks you think I should talk to, please let me know.”

Some Twitter users were quick to point out the hypocrisy behind Democrats spending so much time and energy investigating all the major social media sites, desperately searching for any possible collusion between President Donald Trump and Russia, even though Facebook colluded with Clinton.

He was closely connected with the Barack Obama White House.

“Between Sept. 24 and 25, the networks spent 92 minutes of airtime on the battle over whether or not athletes should stand for the national anthem. During the same timeframe, they spent just 25 minutes on the devastation in Puerto Rico. Networks thus spent 3.6 times more of their airtime on the Trump-NFL spat.

ABC News had the worst disparity, spending nearly 53 minutes on the NFL and just about eight minutes on Puerto Rico, a 7:1 ratio.”

Sickening tactics to garner ratings have always been a staple of leftist media, but this goes WAY over the line. People are lost and dying in Puerto Rico, but anything to bash President Trump will apparently always come first. The top lawyer for Hillary Clinton's failed presidential campaign helped Facebook avoid political advertisement disclosures years prior to acting as her general counsel, according to a new report.

Facebook's ad disclosure has become a major focus of the media in recent weeks after it was revealed that Russians had bought $100,000 worth of advertisements leading up to the 2016 presidential elections.

Marc Elias, a partner at the D.C.-based Perkins Coie law firm who acted as Clinton's top campaign lawyer, was part of a legal team that represented Facebook in 2011 as they fought against adding disclosures on political ads on their platform in front of the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

Elias and the team argued that because the ads were so small that such a disclosure would be impractical, CNN reports. The Federal Election Commission, which consists of three Democrats and three Republicans, split 3-3 on their vote of allowing Facebook to forego the disclaimers.

However, the split vote allowed savvy lawyers to work around the request since the FEC did not issue an opinion. Facebook went ahead and allowed political advertisements on its site without disclosures following the commission's gridlock.

Facebook's political ad disclosure has become a hot topic after it was first revealed that Russians had bought $100,000 worth of political advertisements.

Politico reported on Tuesday that the Russian-funded ads "backed" Green Party candidate Jill Stein, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.), and Donald Trump and that the effort "didn't necessarily hew to promoting Trump and bashing Clinton," according to sources familiar with the ads. Russians also bought a Black Lives Matter ad targeting Baltimore and Ferguson, according to CNN.

None of the campaigns appeared to have been aware of the ads.

Unredacted Clinton emails to be reviewed in court, despite State Dept. resistance

A federal judge has ordered a review of unredacted Hillary Clinton emails relating to her use of a private server while US Secretary of State. The State Department has also been ordered to argue why it shouldn’t have to investigate the emails.
In a case brought by conservative watchdog, Judicial Watch, U.S. District Court Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly ordered the personal review of redacted material from emails “discussing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's use of iPads and iPhones during her tenure at the State Department," Judicial Watch said.

Thirteen sealed documents must be presented to the court in their entirety for a video-recorded [private] review by November 6, Judge Kollar-Kotelly said, according to court documents.

The order stems from a lawsuit brought by Judicial Watch following the government’s refusal to respond to a March 2015 Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) request. The group has filed multiple FOIA requests and lawsuits in its investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state.

According to a press release, Judicial Watch has requested, “All records of requests by former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton or her staff to the State Department Office Security Technology seeking approval for the use of an iPad or iPhone for official government business.”

It also demands, “All communications within or between the Office of the Secretary of State, the Executive Secretariat, and the Office of the Secretary and the Office of Security Technology concerning, regarding, or related to the use of unauthorized electronic devices for official government business.”

Judicial Watch argues the redactions should not be covered by deliberative process privilege (the principle that internal government processes are immune from FOIA requests) because there is a “government misconduct” exception.

Given the difficulty of adjudicating the applicability of the government misconduct exception in the abstract—assuming such an exception exists at all—and the practical reality that this litigation has reduced to relatively small portions of thirteen documents, the Court shall order in camera review of the contested materials,” Judge Kollar-Kotelly wrote.

The court order also details how Judicial Watch wants the State Department to “be required to conduct a supplemental search of certain additional emails allegedly recovered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on October 28, 2016.”

The State Department has said it’s not required to search theses materials, as they “are not yet in State’s possession, nor is there any indication when they will be.”

According to Judge Kollar-Kotelly, “while it may be true” that the materials weren’t in the Department’s control at the time the FOIA request was made, “the Court cannot rely on Defendant’s bald assertion to that effect in a legal brief.”

The State Department has been ordered to present “an affidavit addressing the agency’s control of these materials” by November 6.

“It is frankly outrageous that Secretary Tillerson and Attorney General Sessions allow their agencies to cover up for and defend Hillary Clinton’s scandalous and potentially criminal conduct,” Judicial Watch said in a statement. “JW will keep the battles up in court and will continue to educate Americans about the lack of action by these Trump agencies.”

Kollar-Kotelly is a former presiding judge of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA).

By silencer, Hillary Clinton is referring to a suppressor. She thinks that suppressors work like in the movies and totally kill the sound.

The reason for her tweet is to set the battle over gun rights issues. The Hearing Protection Act of 2017 is in the House currently and will ease restrictions on buying firearm silencers.

Hillary is making this massive tragedy into a political issue. All I can say is, “Thank God this woman is not our President right now.”

Here is the people lining up to give blood to the victims and Hillary is using her time to make a political issue out of this. Shame!
