Feds seek prison time for Anthony Weiner in sexting case

NEW YORK – Federal prosecutors say former congressman Anthony Weiner should go to prison for about two years for engaging in sexting with a 15-year-old girl.

Prosecutors filed papers in Manhattan federal court Wednesday urging a judge to send a message at sentencing Monday.

The 53-year-old New York Democrat said in a submission last week that he's undergoing treatment and is profoundly sorry for subjecting the North Carolina high school student to what his lawyers called his "deep sickness." Prosecutors say he's promised in the past that he's reformed.

Defense lawyers had portrayed the girl as an aggressor, saying she wanted to generate material for a book and possibly influence the presidential election.

As part of a plea bargain, Weiner has agreed not to appeal any sentence between 21 and 27 months.

So you understand that this had nothing to do with monitoring trump or the election. I doubt that Manifort was in trump Tower in 2014 when he was monitored relating to another matter. We know he wasn't monitored when the Russian meetings occurred which was close to the election.

His monitoring was re commenced when he started getting calls from the Russians who were being monitored in relation to trying to rig the election.

Nothing that wasn't fully justified and now we know that there were also meetings in Trump Tower with the Russians which Trump and his cronies have lied about as every new point has been discovered.

Remember it started as fake news it never happened when Trump and co obviously knew all about it. Then it was one or two people talking about adoption or something. Eventually we end up about 7 lies later with at least 7 people discussing Russian finance and support for the Trump campaign.

Comey’s Worst Fear Is Coming True, and There’s Nothing He Can Do to Stop It

Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley announced Wednesday plans to subpoena two senior FBI officials to question them about former FBI Director James Comey, opening the door for even more incriminating information to be uncovered about him.

“We’ve got subpoenas at the Senate counsel office,” Grassley told CNN Wednesday, referencing the office responsible for drafting subpoenas. “When we get done there, I’m gonna have to consult with Sen. Feinstein.”

The top ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Diane Feinstein, has been working with Grassley to investigate President Donald Trump’s purported connections to Russia, as well as his termination of Comey four months ago.

But as noted by The New Time Times, the two have also agreed “to pursue matters as broad as the Obama Justice Department’s handling of the Hillary Clinton email case last year and the Trump campaign’s interactions with Russia to better understand Mr. Comey’s abrupt removal.”

Regarding the two agents he hopes to interview, Grassley believes they “could provide key insight into Mr. Comey’s handling of the Clinton email case, his interactions with Mr. Trump and his ultimate firing,” according to the Times.

The agents, James Rybicki and Carl Ghattas, reportedly worked alongside Comey during his 4-year tenure at the FBI and may be aware of actions by Comey that haven’t yet been uncovered.

Thanks to the Senate Judiciary Committee’s outstanding investigative work, we now know that Comey decided to prepare an exoneration statement for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton months before the agency’s investigation into her email habits had concluded.

“(I)t appears that in April or early May of 2016, Mr. Comey had already decided he would issue a statement exonerating Secretary Clinton,” Grassley and fellow committee member Sen. Lindsey Graham wrote in a letter earlier this month to FBI Director Christopher Wray.

“That was long before FBI agents finished their work,” they added. “Mr. Comey even circulated an early draft statement to select members of senior FBI leadership.”

Now just imagine what sort of incriminating information about Comey that Grassley’s team might uncover when they interview his former FBI partners.

If I were Comey, I’d be scared right now. He’s already been outed as a liar and a hack. He could be outed as a criminal as well.
