I think you are simplifying the dual-citizenship issue. Some people should have checked but there are some that had no reason whatsoever to suspect they were dual nationals. One person's mother applied for italian citizenship that applied to him without his knowledge or consent when he was a child. Xenophon's father was found to be a british citizen in extraordinary circumstances and none of them actually knew about it. Barnaby Joyce also had no reason to suspect this either.

I find it curious that with 7 people caught up in this that NONE are from Labor. I dont think it is even remotely plausible to think that no Labor MPs have the same problem when so many others do. But since Labor is the one investigating everyone else, perhaps it is time for Libs and Greens to investigate Labor.

It really is pitifully stupid that this has come about.

Apparently Labor manage this in their process, they sit down with their perspective representatives they check their background and investigate possible problems and rectify issues. The Liberals seem to do something similar.

As someone pointed out the other day the effort required to find out that Barnaby had a problem is a 40 second Google search.

And Bill Shorten says he doesnt have a problem but refuses to disclose the documentation that allegedly proves it. In the current hysterical situation, what possible reason is there for not disclosing it?

It is great in hindsight to suggest that checking up on citizenship is easy. The issue is that these people genuinely had no reason to suspect dual-nationality. I dont have dual-nationality either, but who would I ask to check it out? Ask Xenophon who apparently has british citizenship but was unaware of it, as was his father. Given that he has already renounced Greek and Cypriot citizenship, why would he then check out yet another country?

This whole affair is ridiculous which is why it has taken 116 years for it to even get noticed.

The clause is reasonable it only suddenly became ridiculous when the conservatives were caught out, they were still laughing about the greens being caught out 4 or 5 weeks ago. That was OK and their own stupid fault according to both Turnbull and Baaarnaby.

After months of litigation, The DNC Fraud Lawsuit has been dismissed by Judge Zloch. Lawyers Jared and Elizabeth Beck have long cited deep corruption of the judicial system as a potential reason for the suit’s dismissal. The ruling comes as a blow to many former Bernie Sanders supporters who had hoped that the suit would address what many view as deeply seated corruption in the Democratic party establishment.

In his ruling, Judge Zloch wrote that the plaintiffs had failed to prove their injury, calling it “too diffuse” for Federal court. Despite the dismissal, Zloch did state that the court assumed the basic claim made by the plaintiffs to have been true; that the DNC acted against Bernie Sanders and in favor of Hillary Clinton despite outward claims of neutrality.

There had been some speculation that the potential for discovery in the DNC lawsuit could have revealed damaging information beyond the issue of Bernie Sanders having been cheated out of the nomination during the Democratic primary last year. Many have argued that the case had the potential to shed light on the death of Seth Rich, and possibly disprove the Russian hacking narrative if the case had gone forward.

The news has been met with outrage by many, who view the ruling as a final indictment against the judicial system and any pretense of a functioning American democracy.

The point the former Sheriff was trying to make was that the cases against him alleged the “crimes” date back decades, however, they were just filed in the last few years.

At this point, Joe Arpaio is a retired former Sheriff guilty of no crimes. It’s up to the People to decide now if he did or did not break the law while trying to protect it.
