I don't, and never have had gay friends (that I know of) - but it always surprises me when I see gay groups on TV demonstrating against 'rightwing' groups who are demonstrating against Islam and Muslim immigration ...

Banners are up, saying things like 'NOT IN OUR NAME!' ... 'DOWN WITH RACISM!' ... 'REFUGEES ARE WELCOME HERE!' ... 'OUTLAW HATE, NOT REFUGEES!' ...

... and young Muslim immigrants, recently arrived from the 7th century, are thoroughly perplexed as to why these screeching homosexuals beneath their rainbow flags are in support of their religion which sees 10 Muslim-majority countries having the Death Penalty for buggery.

Not at all. One can be opposed to the persecution of gays and lesbians without condemning all of the people who follow a religion that in parts of the world persecutes gays and lesbians.
