True... With Trump we're in a whole new paradigm of stupid...

He set himself up for lampooning years ago with 'birther'... Then, as if that wasn't enough, he sued Bill Maher over Maher's comical suggestion that Trump was the son of an orangutan...

Trump's stupidity is bottomless... This kind of stupid appears to be a uniquely American kind of stupid... When it comes to dumb, American culture is happy to blindly go where no culture has gone before...

ah, that would be the reason that every nation on earth copies their culture, watches their movies, adores their celebrities, eats their fast food ,copies their theme parks, flock to see their rockstars, copies their music,  buys their software, buys their smartphones, communicates on their social media....because americans are just so stupid  Wink

Yes and historically, the greater America has been, the better the world has been.

That's true, Sprint. Just look at Iraq.

no longy, YOU and people like YOU are freaking out because you like the comfort zone, the familiar, the pleasuring of yourself that you can get in a durrrr state.

America has had periods that were way more chaotic.
the great depression
pearl harbour and WW2
the cuban missile crisis
assasination of JFK
the vietnam war
twin towers

you have to go thru chaos to move forward
systems re arrange themselves and make themselves better during periods of chaos

if trump upsets the status quo, this is a good thing

some light reading for you

Replete, even, with orange face makeup... As time goes by I'm guessing he'll add the red lipstick, then the white paint around the eyes, the blue tufts of hair and finally the big red nose that honks when a midget pulls it.

during each of those periods, America had a competent president and leadership. Now, they have the muppets with virtually no idea what to do. Everything they touch is a disaster. The state Department has virtually no staff. Most of the 630 appointments have not been made so the WH is running under-staffed and incompetently. And Trump is showing multiple signs of being mentally ill or just plain UNHINGED.

This is the biggest crisis for USA since the civil war. USA needs the 25th amendment, impeachment or a bullet.  Anything less could be literally disastrous.

Really?

The status quo is that we don't accept women being sexually assaulted.

You're happy with Trump changing that, are you?

That's just PC nonsense. As Mr Trump says, if you're a star, you can do anything. Give them a kiss, grab them by the pussy, whatever you like.

And he's the president. I'd say he's changed the status quo already, wouldn't you?

It's just a pity that, apart from sexual assault, he hasn't changed much else.

Still, the "progressives" won't be happy, so it's all good.

I wonder how the 40 million people on the unemployment queues felt about Donald Trump being elected, call me optimistic but I would say they felt pretty damned good..because someone has finally  turned up who actually gives a dam about them

Oh and the 30% of Americans NOT covered by Obama Care most probably feel pretty chuffed too  Cool

Did you say 30%, Red? Would you like to clarify that?

But I'm curious. How many Americans had health insurance before Obamacare?

We can get to the unemployment rate before and after Obama too if you'd like, but I'd appreciate an answer to these two questions first, if you don't mind.

40 million huh? That is just more fake new that you are too stupid to reject. the unemployment rate is under 5%.  and under Trump 50% of americans wont get health coverage.

Why are you so gullible?

The expansion and threat of an upcoming and inevitable of war now coupled with repression and mass surveillance has now been handed over to the administration of Donald Trump, a government of capitalist and corrupted to the core billionaires, generals and outright fascists that is determined to bring war to the globe meanwhile carrying out unprecedented attacks on the working class in America.

The useless, outdated and out of touch Democratic Party is calling for a special prosecutor over (their) alleged Russian “meddling” in the US election. This insane demand is only aimed at sustaining the US war drive against Russia and diverting the mass opposition to Trump into reactionary channels - and that may work for a while. Problem is while Trump is calling for a probe of [his] alleged bugging of personal communications, neither side has zero interest calling for a proper investigation of the CIA spying operation.
...

In this bourgeoisie capitalist police state both Democrats and Republicans are too busy blowing each other that such police-state measures are required to defend America's decaying and rotting capitalist system against the threat of any social revolution by the working class.

you still don't get it. think about why people support protectionist measures for industry. think about why people want a wall on the border. think about why people want the interventions in the middle east to stop. think about why ordinary working people are tired of being lectured to by people who don't share their interests, such as celebrities, soros, academics and about 90% of journalists. 99% of criticisms of trump never hit on any of these issues. they always dance around them.

That might be true, but Trump's own record shows he's no better.  Sure, he's only ruined lives in the private sector not politics (at least up until his inauguration) so you can't link to specific instances of his wrong doing, or at least selfish exploitative behaviour in politics, but look at who he is surrounding himself with.

He's no better than the establishment his apologists like to paint, only less competent and less capable.

And for all your hate on celebrities, they've turned to him in a big way because he is a celebrity.

His business dealing may have worked out well for him, his family and the higher ups in the executive levels, but not many others.

Again, I want to be wrong, but it looks like his politics will be the same, not that good for the people on the ground, but great for him, his family and his inner circle.

The only real "evidence" we have to go on that would suggest that he will be different, is his word.  We know what that's worth.

But just in case you didn't, sweet bugger all.

Look at how his ObamaCare replacement is shaping up...  That was meant to be one of his more easy fixes, again, if you believed him.

The short version is that many people see in Trump what they want, all under the banner of "make america great again".  I don't know why they've chosen Trump given the irrefutable facts about his past and when that sort of dishonest and exploitative nature continues, they double down and defend him when much less was utterly unacceptable under his opponents.

You can go on about how all these other type of people are out of touch etc, but it like you've dismissed everyone else in the room, got to Trump and though "well, there is nobody else here, no point in running a background check on him".

He's almost getting the support of the people, by default.

He hasn't earned it and he doesn't stand for what people use to justify their support of him.

He wants cheap labour, he wants to exploit undocumented or imported workers, he wants more tax cuts and better treatment for the rich, he wants to keep the loopholes in place that he and his trust/corporate setups use to not pay any tax in the first place, he was a believer in universal health care like Obamacare and a woman's right to choose, hell he even said the state should stay out of the bathroom debate and let people use which ever one they want.

But he's back tracked on all of that or is simply telling the people what he thinks they need to hear to win their trust.

Sure his opponents aren't perfect, but unless people are willing to apply the same logic and standards to their support of Trump as they do to their hatred of his opponents, he'll be nothing more than the winner by default, undeserving of their support and he'll turn on them and exploit them as soon as he gets the chance, again for his own personal gain.

The fact that many like you can't see this, or choose to look the other way is very scary.

Some time ago, I read a characterisation of the CIA as the US president's personal secret army that no commander-in-chief has been able to resist using, no matter how pure his intentions at the start of his administration.

Apparently a Democrat president is more likely to hold out against the lure of this covert raw power than a Republican one... But, in the end, they all can't resist it.

It's one thing to upset the status quo, AND THEN?

You want someone like him rewriting the books going forward?

This is what people are worried about.  He's a wolf in an ill-fitting orange human suit.

He's already made moves that would suit him and those like him over the "forgotten people" you really think he can be trusted to rebuild the system after he's destroyed it, something he and especially Bannon seem determined to do!?
