Not at all. Prisons in the US are a lucrative source of labour. State and private prisons alike now have manufacturing contracts with all sorts of companies, including weapons manufacturers.

With the highest per-capita population or prisoners in the world, the US prison is the new workplace. Why employ wetbacks when you can pay jailbirds 50 cents an hour?
