Catholic church in for a caning - again.

What it all proves very conclusively is that religion has absolutely zero to do with producing decent human beings - even with those who study the bible for years to become experts in its moral instructions and its threats of Hell-and-Damnation if you should stray from the path.

The greatest gathering of perverts, paedophiles, arse-bandits, pillow-biters, and sadomasochists ever found in one place outside of Sodom and Gomorrah has been the Christian churches.

With their eyes wide open the senior clerics allowed these disgusting perverts to make a sewer and a cesspit of the various denominations.

Heads are going to roll ....

Literally thousands of these sick bastards would have buggered Christ when he was a 10 year old boy.

I, to a degree , disagree. You have to accept that the only muslim prophet actually committed peadophilia on a girl aged six, or at least attempted it. He actually achieved the heinous act when she was nine. The muslim faith hides its acts by kiddy fiddlers, as did the catholics and its followers. We can hope that the muslims will out the peados just like the catholics have, but I doubt it.

That's the thing isn't it as long as they "repent" it's a get out of jail free card. The majority of prisoners in the world are religious, many of them guilty of heinous crimes. If heaven exists it full of rapists, murderers and child molesters.

Yet a good man who does not believe is consigned to hell.

Never trust a person who can clear their conscience of an evil deed by asking forgiveness from an imaginary being.

In my day priests were sacrosanct. It was inconceivable to think of them as anything other than paragons of virtue. By a factor of thousands worldwide we were so very wrong in this delusion.

Well said.

In my personal experience the two most despicable characters who were related to me as in-laws, were highly religious. For them religion was an end in itself, with it being an insurance against eventually going to Hell, and with 'God' being little more than a personal Good Luck charm and a talisman for bringing them material wealth and personal satisfactions. Meanwhile, their own characters in the real world outside of their religious posturing was self-centred, immature, and careless of others to an extreme.

Where you find religious people who are absolute champions and lovable for their sterling good character and generous nature - it has absolutely nothing to do with bible-study and a belief in God, but comes from within their own life experiences and maturity of character.

(Incidentally I never broach the subject of religion with people I meet in person. If they find comfort and solace in a belief in a good god and a life hereafter, then good luck to them).
