spiders
Feb 1st, 2017 at 1:30pm

I hardly leave my little home after dark...but lately I have had reason to do so and have found a huge spider builds his/her web almost cross the front entrance... its in the same spot when ever I see it..its from the eaves  to the pole support for the timber slats that give me some respite from the sun its  about 5 feet across . and I can only see it if the outside warning light comes on..

in the morning its gone not a sign of it..

I would go mad if I walked into it..but its not the sort of thing one is looking for   its really above head level  but we know how far their web building can go..

does it mean getting the house sprayed??...I am not a scaredycat about spiders but this is rather BIG..

...

The venom of the golden silk orb-weaver is potent but not lethal to humans. It has a neurotoxic effect similar to that of the black widow spider; however, its venom is not nearly as powerful. The bite causes local pain, redness, and blisters that normally disappear within a 24-hour period. In rare cases, it might trigger allergic reactions and result in respiratory troubles (in asthmatics) or fast-acting involuntary muscle cramps. As the genus possesses relatively strong chelicerae, the bite could leave a scar on hard tissue (such as fingers).
