One of the more interesting interviews I'd listened to a few years ago was with Joe Bageant - a self-declared and proud 'redneck' from the Blue Ridge Mountains of West Virginia - An insightful raconteur whose insights into the psyche of 'backwoods mountain' people humanised them by stripping off their derogatory stereotype without denying their origins or sensibilities...

Joe visited Australia a couple of times and gave this interview during one visit...

It's well worth a listen...
