any ideas for 50th birthday cake female

I am responsible for the cake...

grooooooooooan..

I dont think I am up for making the cake.. am thinking about it..

but I know I am not decorating it...

has anyone ever made one...that has to be special.

its due in May.

my granddaughter had an 18th recently think the cake may have come from the Cheesecake place...

it wasnt good all thick paste like cream.. ugh!

There's an excellent place in Sydney for cakes but that's too far.

How far are you from Jindabyne? There's a good one there too.

Failing that you can get cake tins in the shape of numbers. The 5 and the 0 will be the statement and you won't have to get all tizzy.

You can also get bags of soft writing icing at the supermarket and you would have a bit of time to practice lol

a thought flashed through my mind then..

but not a good idea...

well I have googled it of course and there are heaps of choices... I rather liked the Fabulous 50 idea..

I did a cake course last year BO it was a CHristmas cake..though.. and tell you what its hard work...you need to know all the little tricks that are used a lot of skills involved.....I might have a go at making the cake or cakes...... I made a nice choc cake for grandson last week it only took two goes to get it right..lol..and I have a nice recipe for a citrus one ...but of course the recipe wouldnt be big enough...I will give it some thought....these cakes can cost heaps cant they?.....

I made a Winnie the Pooh cake for my son once. I cut the cake into different sized pieces and shapes and put it together. Then I made an arm chair and a small table and covered it with fondant. I made Pooh out of icing and a jar of honey and painted the chair and table cloth in a chintz design, using food colouring, and had Pooh sticking his fingers in the jar and dripping honey from his fingers to his face.

OMG never again!!!!

I would post up a pic but can't take me out of the pic and that might send some into a frenzy lol
