America isn't now, nor was it ever, a democracy.

It's a Constitutional Republic..............democratic in basic principal, but governed absolutely by laws written within the United Stares Constitution, not by a majority choice or will of a majority of people.

When Americans refer to democracy, they speak to American Democracy.....America's Brand of Democracy....not the Democracy devised originally by the Greeks. That confuses most non-Americans, & some uneducated Americans alike.

So, in the end, nothing failed whatsoever....................it worked exactly according the U.S. Constitution, as it has for every election in American History, since George Washington, the commander of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, was unanimously elected the first president of the United States by all 69 presidential electors who cast their votes in 1789
