No one is saying that Clinton was cheated

A lot of people have been saying that Sanders was cheated.

He would have defeated Trump quite handily.

What we had was an election campaign that resembled a contest of rock-paper-scissors. Trump beat Clinton in the election, who beat Sanders in the primaries, who would have beaten Trump in a fair contest if given the chance...?

I think that is highly presumptuous and probably not even remotely true.  Do you think there is even a single Trump voter that would have voted for Sanders? And without less Trump voters, Trump will still win.

The sanders claims are unfounded. Primaries are rugged affairs and complaints about unfair behaviour comes from both sides all the time. Sanders lost, that is all. He would have lost even worse than Hillary.

Sanders was preaching a change message like Trump and had immense grassroots support. He had rallies that regularly attracted tens of thousands of people. He received over 3.3 million separate donations, more than any other candidate in US history.

Do not underestimate Sanders' personal popularity. He has been elected more times to Congress as an independent than anyone else (he has served since 1991), and has been very consistent in his message since becoming prominent in the 1980s. He would not have been "worse than Hilary", unless you're on the side of the moneyed elite and well-connected corporations.

Many Sanders supporters may have ended up voting for Trump. The mood for change is strong amongst the downtrodden, we also got Brexit for similar reasons.

You can judge how a leader will perform based on how much leftards/luvvies cry in puddles of p.i.s.s. On that basis, Trump will be the best president in America's history.

They're already working on ways to eliminate him from the history books.

If only Oswald was still alive.

it is still, at best a guess and a desperate hope. trump was unbeatable because the great unwashed pile of ignorant buffoons beleived whatever garbage he came up with. You cannot beat a massive pile of stupidity.  if they will vote for a self-confessed cheat, liar and sex deviant, then who can top that?

In a perverse way, its tempting to believe that's true. But (particularly) foreign journalists in the US covering his campaign and attending his rallies were themselves stunned to see that most of the attendees did not look like examples of the lowest socioeconomic white nor all that 'unwashed'... Sure, there were some but mainly there appeared (at least to them) to be representations from all social and economic strata...

If it is the way of all empires to descend into authoritarian states, then the rise of Trump may be the clearest sign yet that the US has begun that descent. After all, Trump has clearly expressed his approval of oligarchic rulers in its modern form with his admiration of Putin.

Trump will likely continue to galvanise support for his own authoritarian vision by using his instinct for belligerence... And, though most of us hate to admit it, we can be easily beguiled by it (even, for some, in awe of it). All narcissists know this.

Take China's foot stomping over Trump's baiting them on Taiwan... Most would be hard-pressed to deny that they feel some form of contempt for a nation that seems to like stomping its feet even when the issue is a foreign state receiving the Dalai Lama. This kind of foreign-policy Achilles heel is exactly what a Trump personality would be aiming for... Let's see if Trump invites His Holiness to the White House...

But anyway, sooner or later, as is the way with all US Administrations, war will come... And time will tell if 'making America great again' becomes a euphemism for a cataclysmic 'Bellum Americanum' or if the US Constitution can withstand the assault which the upcoming Trump Administration will (likely) make on it and deal to him in a way it has not with any other president in its history.

What is changing is that America will enforce its will. And when America wants to enforce its will, things change.

Barbary Coast.
WWI.
WWII.

Trump means America is once again prepared to enforce its will. America is not dependent on China in any way. It's the other way around.   America is in the driver's seat in the US-China relations. China has nothing without American goodwill. China has nothing to bargain with.
America doesn't need China in any way. China needs America. China must come to heel and it will.

And then the majority of you mates are saying that Trump is peaceful and it will be a hippy love fest and the return of the flower child.
