I believe I have made my point clear Mothra.

I think it is bad form for ANY celebrity to use an awards night to voice their political bias.

You think it is wonderful because you agree with her but I doubt you would be taking this same stance if you did not agree with her and if she was extolling the virtues of Trump.

I am not going to spend pages and pages and pages on the matter.  I made my point.

If you want an argument I am sure there are any number of other people for you to follow around and derail threads.

You din't watch the speech, did you.

You[re flying blind.

Meryl made a passin reference to Trump and his mocking of a disabled person... the rest of the speech. i can only assume, wold meet with your blessing.

That;s if you weren't taking out of your arse.

For crying out loud. Stop embarrassing yourself and just watch the clip.

I HAVE watched the clip so who is embarrassing themselves?

Mothra what part of "I do not agree with ANY celebrity using this type of platform for their political views" don't you get?

What political views did she express?

She mentioned a public figure of high office making fun of a disabled person.

She said that sets a precedent for all people.

She is 100% correct.

99% of it was political in a very subtle  and understated way.  Why have this event anyway, if the recipients are restricted to 'I'd like to thank.....'

Bloody hell, even comedy out of Hollywood can have a deliberate political sub theme.

Oh BTW, I agree with what she said, I question the platform she used to say it. Hope this helps.

imagine if every recipient of an award voiced their political agenda in their acceptance speech... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes....I wonder where mothra would draw her line in the sand.. Smiley Smiley Smiley..

Imagine if Streep was praising and extolling the virtues of Trump?    Would she be so adamant in Streep's defence?

I don't think so!!!

its noticable mothra hasnt said where she would draw a line..

if all recipients took advantage of the world stage they would briefly occupy for 3 minutes....and give us all a blast of what they see is right and wrong with the world at large...

do they do that at the Logies??

I am just asking as I never watch nor have any interest in any award show....so phony all of them..

its like Dicaprio extolling the world with his thoughts on Climate Change whilst flying here there and everywhere in a private plane..

we can all do that....

lets give Trump a chance...he cant after all do any less than obama did..... and if anyone believes in all the phony backslapping they gave Clinton during the run up...

well you are not a great judge of character or honesty....thats all I can say..

You said "political views".

Also, she never mentioned Trump.

So, what political views did she express?

The hysteria by a handful here re Trump is mind bogglingly and astoundingly unbalanced.

IF he had already done something terrible   ...   sure!

Why get hysterical before he is even in office?

Give him a chance as he cannot do any worse than Obama!

Why shoot the horse before it even gets out of the gate?

no just read it in the paper.....sorry mothra but she didnt have to mention any name...come on we are not mentally lacking here...

and not all were impressed... did you read this..

TBA
While most of Hollywood has championed Meryl Streep in the aftermath of her anti-Trump speech at the Golden Globe Awards, two Hollywood heavyweights were far from impressed.

As Streep castigated the incoming US president for his bullying of disabled reporter Serge Kovaleski during a 2015 campaign rally, conservative Catholic Mel Gibson and libertarian Vince Vaughn looked on in bemusement.

Gibson appeared confused throughout the speech and many Twitter users have claimed Vaughn was "death staring" the Cecil B DeMille Awards recipient.

"The anger on Vince Vaughn's face is the funniest thing he's done in ages," user @chip_chops wrote.

"[Vince Vaughn] be like, 'Stop lecturing me about politics and sit down,'" Chris Berg said.

"Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn's faces during Streep's speech explain exactly how half the country feels about Hollywood attacking Trump," Jack Murphy added.

Meryl Streep’s speech is why Trump won.

That’s the message doing the rounds on Twitter this morning.

Trump won because the average American has had it to the back teeth with pious celebrities like Streep — and Bono, and Leo, but especially Bono — telling them what to think, and how to act, and what to do.

They’re tired of the arrogance, the superciliousness, the scorn.

They’re tired of being made to feel like they’re bad people. They’re tired of the politically correct.

Donald Trump has tapped into that feeling, and if the liberals, weeping and wailing since he won, don’t get a grip, Trump will get re-elected.

MORE: Trump attacks ‘flunky’ Streep

perhaps its time you read the other side mothra....
everything has two sides to it...and NO not every celeb enjoys someone else thinking they have the right to tell them how to think.in public.

I am sure its not what they went there for.

its the same on here.....just because we dont agree.. we dont like being slammed as if we are stupid.. I am sure you agree...

you see it one way others see it different... so suck it up.stop trying to prove they dont know what they are talking about...
