the windmills on the way out of adelaide run for miles..they are quite beautiful.. Hockey said they were ugly and sounds even more intelligent coming from Herb  Grin

There are on Eyre penisula, a very long way from adelaide.

No they are not..but then we travel very long distances from where I am and it might seem close..but they are about an hour out. I live out here I should know.

Arae you talking about SA's wind power towers? They are mostly at the bottom of eyre penisular. There are a few elsewhere but there is the major spot with 100M towers.

The windy mill farms have popped up everywhere in SA, I was standing underneath one the other day at the Ardrossan  wind farm and an absolutely awesome thing to experience, their is a viewing area there, a tribute to white mans ingenuity and saving mega tons of fossil being burnt which cant be good for the global village.

Until the wind stopped blowing as it did recently and much of the state had another power failure because victoria could give us enough.

The problem is the ideological approach rather than the pragmatic one. the SA govt has subsidised wind and solar and penalized coal and gas who ended up closing and so now when wind fails, we have nothing.
