Power networks are not to blame for extreme weather conditions, blame climate change and the extremities it brings. SA is in the front line, exposed to the southern ocean, not far from the Antarctica and surrounded by desert, 40 plus every where here today and more tomorrow, look out!

Windy farms are a good idea but they should build nuclear power plants to provide the power to build unlimited windy mills and solar panels and then decommission  the nuclear power plants and send the waste to the edge of the universe.

thanks cods nice to know you feel my woes  Grin Grin Grin Grin

I read so little news , as can re evidenced by some of my silly replies sometimes...that I didnt even know that we had shifted away from coal until 3 days ago.. mainly wind now..excited for that but this is just bloody ridiculous...and we pay the HIGHEST rates in the land.

They need to guarantee us a regular reliable supply or I am moving interstate.. Cool

The network in SA is pathetic because it was privatised 15 years (or whatever it was) and the owner of the network cuts corners everywhere.

I have called for nuclear power, can find a safe spot in SA easy enough. However that is not because renewables can’t cut it. Investment is needed to tie the various wind farms etc into an efficient grid.

Unfortunately the Greens, who clearly don’t really care about AGW would try and stop sensible low emission energy being developed.

Today I faced, the burning waste,
Without the taste,
Of Water...

Cool, clear water.....

We seem to have gotten past the hot humid days and are now enjoying lovely cool breezes - talk about a different climate... I feel like I'm in Queenslund, you mark my words, where they do things differently.... might ahve to go back to the snow country.

I told my doctor when he said he was retiring to Queensland that he'd be back... Who The Shaitan would want to retire to Queensland?

I think I'll sell up and head for Tassie.... or Dunedin in Nuh Zuland... funny thing - in Dunedin they have the same accent as my grandmother - from NSW New England and born in (wait for it) 1884 -had.  Very Scots/Irish.

1884?  Wow - that was a LONG time ago for this country.... she definitely lived in interesting times... we're slow breeders in my family...
