You don't catch a train to sit and chat to the train driver or the other passengers.  Ditto when you catch a bus.  You just want to get from A to B with a minimum of fuss.

Cabbies in Sydney sit and talk in foreign tongues into their ear pieces the whole time and have God awful music playing on their radios.  I consider that to be inconsiderate and rude.

When I catch a cab the last thing I want to do is chat to the driver, it's not a social exercise, I just want to sit and think my own thoughts whilst not having to concentrate on driving myself.  It's not rude.  It's normal.

can you not ask the driver to turn off the music??.

and or even ." you are not in the mood to chat"...

we dont sit with the train or bus driver BO.. a car is a little different I think..and its usually one on one..

give the guys a fair go they work round the clock..in all weathers...I am sure aussie is a good taxi driver..or he would lose his licence...

from what I see everyone that owns a smartphone is on it 24/7 they make me sick to be honest...[not the people the phones]

James Hird would not be alone...and aussie shouldnt judge him by the fact he was on it in his cab... he didnt get in the cab for a chat..

Exactly cods, BO is stretching just to get a hit in on Aussie.

now whos being judgemental???..

we are just looking at it from different perspective its what threads are all about...

but by the same token aussie shouldnt judge a celeb by his indifference in his cab on a token day..

if aussie was his driver every day fair enough but when you pick someone up ransom like.. you dont have a clue what they are going through at that time...

this btw isnt about aussie or taxi drivers its about James Hird..

With an attitude like that, you'd be left at the side of the road.  But......at least we agree......the service you hire is to be transported from A to B, not to be provided with an Office in which to conduct your business as if no-one else was there.

ACtually it is a service to transport you from A to B without interference from an obnoxious driver. And if you think it is somehow wrong to use a mobile phone in a taxi then it explains the spectacular failure of your life. You just 'dont get it'.  the back seat IS an office as if the tax driver were not there - because he isnt.

he didnt say much about the ones that left him great tips.......

this guy was on the phone....some I am sure do use their lap tops.. what has that got to do with a taxi driver????????......sorry if they were eating or swilling from a beer bottle yes I would say you can object to that....

but someone doesnt wish to talk to the driver..REALLY!!!!!

That is a huge stretch from train driver to cabbie. I think you just wanted to denigrate Aussie. In other words, your post was simple abuse.

you just made that poo up you piece of garbage..

BO didn't even mention Aussie and she was 100% right...

you don't get in a cab to a "social" experience you dipshit...

everyone can see your comments for what they are... a cheap shot from an Rsole who runs a "Bitch Brothel"...

bloody idiot...  Angry

Is The Mechanic trying to be nasty to me? Water off a duck’s back doesn’t begin to describe what I feel about that.

Fact is....
he is
, and it is rude to not excuse yourself while you are in his Cab with a simple polite, "Apologies, mate, I need to take/make this call."

the service you hire is to be transported from A to B, not to be provided with an Office in which to conduct your business as if no-one else was there.

your op aussie..

Other news links say it was a deliberate poison overdose.

I dunno whether to feel sorry or otherwise for this bloke.  I had him as the sole passenger in the cab some years ago, after he retired from playing.

He was constantly on the mobile and the discussion seemed all high flying business deals going on in which he was the centre of success.

Pretty rude of him actually.

couldnt be any clearer..
