He has already started to stir the possum, and There's movement at the station.

It's going to be a very interesting next 4 years. It should be serialised for TV-viewing.

Typical of conservative governments, he wants to cut back health care, roll back environment action and remove the banking reforms that followed the GFC.

About as stupid as you can get.

Quote:
Ford Motor Co (F.N) said Tuesday it will cancel a planned $1.6 billion factory in Mexico and invest $700 million at a Michigan factory, after President-elect Donald Trump had harshly criticized the Mexico investment plan.

The second largest U.S. automaker said it would build new electric, hybrid and autonomous vehicles at the Flat Rock, Michigan plant and add 700 jobs.

Ford Chief Executive Mark Fields said the decision to cancel the new Mexico factory was the result of sagging demand for small cars in North America and not because Trump was elected president. He told Fox Business that the automaker would have made the same decision even if Trump had not been elected.

"There was no quid pro quo because there was no negotiation" with Trump over the decision to cancel the plant, Fields said.

Fields told reporters the decision related to the need to "fully utilize capacity at existing facilities" amid declining sales of small and medium sized cars such as the Focus and Fusion.

Fields also endorsed "pro growth" tax and regulatory policies advocated by Trump and the Republican-led Congress. "This is a vote of confidence for President-Elect Trump and some of the policies he may be pursuing," Fields said.

Trump repeatedly said during the election campaign that if elected he would not allow Ford to open the new plant in Mexico, which he called an "absolute disgrace" and would slap hefty tariffs taxes on imported Ford vehicles.

Ford executive chairman Bill Ford Jr. told reporters he spoke with Trump to notify him of the decision. The company said the decision was influenced by Trump's policy goals such as lowering taxes and regulations but that there were no negotiations over the decision announced on Tuesday.

By contrast, Trump's team held talks with United Technologies Corp (UTX.N) in November before the company agreed to keep about 800 jobs at its Carrier air conditioning unit in Indiana out of 2,100 set to go to Mexico. Trump has also held high profile meetings with the chief executives of Boeing and Lockheed Martin to talk about the cost of military contracts.

Also on Tuesday, Trump threatened to impose a "big border tax" on General Motors Co (GM.N) for making some of its Chevrolet Cruze cars in Mexico.

The New York businessman, who has vowed to bring back American jobs that have been outsourced overseas and be tough on illegal immigration from Mexico, takes office on Jan. 20.

Fields said Ford will build a battery electric SUV with a 300-mile driving range at the Michigan plant by 2020 -- taking on companies like Tesla Motors Inc (TSLA.O), Volkswagen AG (VOWG_p.DE) and GM -- and will launch production there by 2021 of a fully autonomous vehicle without a steering wheel or a brake pedal for use in ride services fleets.

Ford also plans new hybrid versions of its F-150 pickup truck, Mustang and police vehicles by 2020 as the auto industry faces rising fuel efficiency mandates.

Ford will add 700 jobs at the Flat Rock plant, Fields said, to cheers from union workers gathered at the factory for the announcement.

Ford in April announced it would invest $1.6 billion in the new plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to build small cars. The company said it will shift production from Michigan of its Focus to an existing plant in Hermosillo, Mexico.

When Trump announced his campaign in June, 2015, he said Ford would cancel its planned Mexico investments. "They’ll say,‘Mr. President we’ve decided to move the plant back to the United States — we’re not going to build it in Mexico.’ That’s it. They have no choice," Trump said.

Trump tweeted a link on Tuesday to a story about the decision.

Ford shares rose 3.3 percent to $12.54, up $0.41 a share, while the Mexican peso fell on Tuesday to touch its weakest level in seven weeks.

Ford said it will add two new unnamed products at its Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Michigan, where the Focus is manufactured today.

That bullet-proof glass was at least 5 cm thick. Previous to this, only the Pope has it this thick in his glass cage.

The Messiah has arrived to lead the American people and Marla out of The Darkness.

(Hitler didn't need any glass at all ........ )  Shocked

Trump will cause chaos in the USA.

And chaos is exactly what is needed to motivate "fat steve" to get off the couch and stop durping around.

A true rightard sees every problem as an opportunity
A true rightard sees pain, not as a reason to become a victim but as the emotional juice to go into growth.

We are about to witness a world ,very similar to 1945 germany or japan.
And if you read the kabalion , you would know that the down is a neccessary part of fueling the up.
It is the destruction and chaos which fuels the system to come back stronger.(witness japan and germany 30 years later)

Touchy feeley "weak sauce" ideas like obamacare will not make america great.

Smash it to the ground Donald.
A scorched earth policy and then lets see 'fat steve and his fat wife" put under some pressure AT LAST.
some pressure to get off the couch and have a dynamic charged life full of rollercoaster type experiences of ups and downs , exactly as life is meant to be

as you know, I am able to vote and did not vote for Trump but am impressed what he did:  with one tweet he destroyed the GOP's (evil) plan to gut an independent ethics committee.

The Republicans did not win the election. Trump did. This will become more evident as time goes by ...

Comments on these forums are often about wishful thinking, whatever the affiliation. This is another example. It may be a valid opinion, but no, it is not fact. And you will not necessarily "know" anything by reading the Kabalion, even if it supports you opinion. Statements of fact need more than wishful thinking.

I think we are moving into a world in which the truth is very fluid and we may need to learn to adapt to that.

Issue, you are a very logical thinker.

Kudos.

But is logic going to give you the right answer?

When marketers already understand that human beings, in terms of evolutionary psychology, are becoming less aware and less focused. When they now blatantly lie and just make up fake news to establish click bait selling, i think we may be "post logic".

Einstein said, 'we cant solve a problem in the paradigm in which it was created".

We may have to move to a new way of thinking.

Thats what i'm saying.

Trump is a rennaisance man.

Now, from a logical point of view, such a statement is rediculous. But trump, and those like him, have tapped into a 'stream of consciousness" that reflects "a current reality".

So who is more logical ?

Trump for understanding this or his opponents for repeatedly calling for IQ tests for those who support Trump?

I would call for an IQ test for those who eat coke and fries and wont drink green vegetable juice.

And facts would support me as having a very logical position.
But this means absolutley zip, in terms of the "reality" as it currently exists.
As such, i am the one who is living in a parrallel universe

Wink

those of you who criticise Obamacare have no idea, and certainly no experience, with getting and paying for health insurance in the USA. can you imagine what the "pre-existing condition" clause means for millions of Americans? of course you can't. you are \ˈfək\ing ignorant.
