I think it should be decided by the writers themselves.  End of!

You mean me and possibly Gandalf.

anyhow.... writing about and in support pedophilia is F...ING stupid, insulting, dangerous and borderline illegal. The continual push towards this is from Karnal, who being paki, probably thinks its a good idea.

The insulting stupidity that goes on around this is why so many of you wannabes are unemployed, unemployable and frankly, losers. I personally would enjoy being part of a 'competition' involving writing, but the insane shitstorm that arises from the tossers and losers on here is insane.

It is such a SIMPLE thing to do and yet the impossibility of doing it with you clowns is further evidence of why so many of you are tossers from the garbage dump of society. You couldn't organise a chook raffle unless the chook was gay, underage and a labor supporter.

If you are directing that at me you might care to read where I said that writing in support of paedophilia was a bad choice of topics and very unsavoury.

No, not targetted at you at all. it was a vent at the collection of nice people incapable of handling something as 'complex' as reading and writing. Apologies for the 'collateral damage' of my spray.

Appreciated and thank you.

In this context, you are a nobody.  No-one needs to trust me, as it is a mechanical process, not involving any decision making or judgement.

Get on it with it, and cease the prevarication, excuses and weazel.

I have submitted a piece of work in case anyone is interested. It is unpublished as it formed part of a therapy for a distressed person.

You two need to leave your personal bitterness out..let this not descend into a trash thread.. ( BO AND Aussie )

I think anon in the general section is great we could ask Perceptions if he would submit pieces anonymously on our behalf, he is fair and unbiased..

Is there a prize on offer?

And I think the topic should be decided on as well...maybe by poll.

You need to butt out of what does not concern you Agnes.  Ima working on my 2017 Policy of not tolerating the PA ad hom crap any longer.

P_N is never here.

This is already a debacle....melielongtime will never agree with anything other than his terms, so it is a waste of time.....right now.

My proposal is sound, fair to all, and it will work.

Some of us are actually interested in the topic
, not your tiresome b.itchfight with BO..grow up and no one cares about what you tolerate either...make another thread.

It does not have to be perceptions..anyone who is neutral in fact will suffice.

IT DOESNT NEED A MODERATOR.  Writers submit their work in a single thread and people comment. It is that easy.

No worries, Longy. We can post them in this very thread. You obviously don't want any anonymity, which would counter any bias in the judging.

What do you want the deadline to be?

How can a writer submit his own stuff anonymously? I was not suggesting a mod just someone to submit anon pieces?

Anonymity isnt necessary. People submit under their own names so that no one can get in and mess things up as Aussie inevitably would do. There needs to be a short list of topics, also easy to do if the person is sane and not an arsehole - also not aussie or karnal. and finally there is simple discussion on the submitted work which will invariably be limited to nothing more than abusing the writer, attacking the liberals and avoiding at all costs the substance of the article.  it's incredibly simple providing people are not arseholes or terminally stupid.  And there is the problem.

You can't choose your own topic, Longy. That's your point, remember? An essay supporting something you disagree with.

We don't want another speech on Rosa Parks day.

You dont want to play by the rules even when you set them so I'm not going to either. You refused to submit something last time so I am going it alone and submitting a short story. Read it, dont read it. Dont care. All I know is that YOU will never submit a peice of work because ironically, you ARE a piece of work.

No, Longy, you set the rules. They're your rules, remember?

Now, we need to decide on a deadline for submission. Shall we say two weeks?

I'm still going with paedophilia as no one has suggested any alternatives.

Write it yourself, tosser. We all know you wont and there will be a pile of excuses... again. No one expects anything from you.

I will, Longy. Just as soon as we have a deadline.

Personally, I'd like an anonymous competition so we all get a fair vote. This would also alleviate your concerns about being busted for child porn for writing a scholarly essay.

Still, I'm flexible. Not my will, God, but Thine.

Why would the 1200 word "essay" need to be sent via PM to anybody?

Just give a closing date for submissions. Then, those who want to contribute just post their submission. Anybody who makes a "comment"  has that comment removed by a GMod, so that the thread remains pristine.  Wink

Instead of calling it an "essay", perhaps a "short story" would be more appropriate then everyone could have a go.  It doesn't have to be political, a speech or a masterpiece, surely. This is OzPol, nobody here is posing as World Renown Authors, are they?

Might be nice to just let people write a short story ... whatever the topic ... you might be surprised with who is "judged" the best.

We wanted it to be anonymous, Neferti. If you post it under your own name, everyone knows who wrote it. People can then vote for who they like, rather than the actual writing.

It was Longy's idea to write an essay. His challenge was to write something you completely disagree with, hence displaying your skill in rhetoric and persuasion.

You could indeed write a persuasive piece that supports an argument using fiction, and I see no problem with that. Umberto Eco did this with his novels.

Maybe Longy can post an erotic short story in support of paedophilia.
