If Karnal chose a support of peadophelia for your subject I suspect that would be because of a long game in order for Karnal and others, John Smith/Peccerhead/Aussie et al, to recycle those arguments divorced from this 'competition' in future debates  and accuse you of supporting peadophelia.

Hell Peccerhead is already over the forum accusing anyone who laughed at him for losing his bet...and remaining despite losing biggly,  as supporting an accused child abuser.

As for have it happening in Aussies playground, that should be grounds for declining from the get go.

Absolutely. it is quite entertaining watching the usual suspects playing their usual games. Karnal is utterly incapable of a serious post and so I have no idea if he could write seriously since he has never yet done so. And no one in their right mind would put Aussie in charge of anything. He reeks envy and bitterness all wrapped up in a nice, tight bundle of ignorance.

karnal cracks me up and I think she/he is actually a she. Would love to read a piece from karnal.

His/her/its major challenge would be to A) actually do it and B) be serious.  I think dsmithy70 and dna could right well and I suspect peccahead could as well and I would love to critique him using the same level of pedantry his dishes out.  Maybe he could right a 1200 word article on the difference between illegal and unlawful?

I dont think it has to be serious and I dont know most of the time if Karnal is being serious or not but that makes it funny.. I think humour should be embraced..and we have quite a few very funny posters here..Greggery/Leftwinger/AiA when he wants to ..etc. The funnier the better...more humour-- bring it on.    Smiley

A good old piss take.

Wait one - is this to be divided into categories?

creative writing,
learned discussion a la academia with supported info etc,
meaningless monologue,
personal vitriol carried to the max,
obfuscation on a fine point,
endless repetition of one or another party lines,
addiction to one trick pony-ism,
how to divest oneself of all responsibility by blaming it on PA .....

...the potential categories are endless here..... I kind of like:-

Propaganda Propagation Over the Same Old Issues Already History's Dust (or how I learned to start worrying about the economy bombing and covered it by arguing the past) ......

I think it should be done on the General Board and not moved to a sub-forum.  That usually spells disaster.  Unless Bogey is willing to host it in Books.

Moving it to Relationships would be a disaster and would spoil the intent behind the topic and the effort the writers have had to put in.

I don't care where it is, but it would be easier to control by a Mod of a Member Run Board who knows how the buttons work.

For example, all contributions could be sent to that Mod who would then  post them in a Thread hidden from everyone other than FD and the GMods.

The Thread could then be made visible at the same moment.....at the deadline for contributions....so everyone's work is released at the same time.

Keep your PA spite there, BO.....and please explain why it would be a disaster and how it would spoil the intent etc.

Let's see if you can answer without the usual PA ad hom crap which always manages to emerge here.

Crocodile might do well although if the topic were anything by economics and grpahs were not permitted, it might be a big challenge!  And of course green_snot.  A) he cant count to 1200 (or 12) and he couldnt write a word on the actual topic (see his threads for proof).  Andrei should be asked to write on 'Why i love the Democrats'

Still stuck on the difference between unlawful and illegal, Longy?

No matter how many times it's been explained to you?

Astonishing.

Tell me, how does the difference between illegal and unlawful pertain to 18c?

wrong yet again. Firstly it wasnt plagiarised and the total absence of proof was more than enough to debunk that.

really? so you signing off your own attempt with  'reprinted with the kind permission off xxxx' (or words to that effect) wasn't proof enough for you?

And...didn't 'his' piece also purport to quote some European expert who turned out to be non-existent?   Might be wrong about that.

Cut the PA nonsense and quell your bias.   This is exactly why it should be in General where only the GMods have control and not someone prone to deep bias.

Submissions do not have to me made to you or anyone at all.  At a certain date and time each person can submit their works into a nominated thread.

I see absolutely no reason why each writer has to submit their work to a 'Mod" prior to the deadline.

Read up Aussie.

For precisely the reason of the way you are acting right now.  LW would not have a hope with the sort of bias you persistently show.
