Plagiarism in modern cookery

You see it all the time in shows like MKR and it's senior partner Master Chef.
They can't resist the opportunity to put down dishes and methods that they describe as old fashioned or no longer acceptable standards.

Next thing you know one of these wet behind the ears gurus comes up with something as if it's his brilliant discovery but in reality may have been around since the middle ages.

Example. Apparently hot water pastry is the latest miracle discovery.
Rubbing butter into flour and adding hot water is probably the oldest pastry method known.

PS Aldi stocks this regional blend Loire Valley white which is a great buy at the price, which I forget.
Beautiful lime & citrus flavours and nice acid, a wonderful summer drink.

BTW, we all drink our wines at the wrong temperatures. Room temperature for a red is fine if you live in a medieval castle, otherwise stick it in the fridge for a while in summer. Whites OTOH need to come out if the fridge maybe half an hour before drinking.
Better flavours.

About all they come up with nowadays are bigger plates with smaller servings and deconstructed old favourites that look like they have been tossed onto the plate from 20 paces.
