Trump's campaign style was so, so interesting

I was one of those in Australia who, almost every day during 2016, watched [PBS coverage, played on SBS1, and happily watched any other TV coverage of] the developing 2016 presidential campaign in the US.

For almost all of 2016, it was, imo, Trump's campaign style, that made the 2016 presidential campaign in the US so different, and so 'interesting' !!

And now, following the conclusion of 2016 presidential campaign in the US,
i fear that every other electoral campaign that i am going to see being covered on TV will now seem so, so boring!

[e.g. i'm just thinking of the very recent preliminary, mainstream, coverage that i have seen, of candidates for the upcoming presidential campaign in France. AND IT IS SO, SO, SO, SO, BORING! why so ? because sadly, we are back to watching traditional, mainstream political candidates 'engaging' in a traditional 'pap' style electoral campaign! eww!]

I suspect the losers that came out and voted for him as the new Messiah are in for a big disappointment over the next term. From a military point of view lets hope the establishment can keep the fool under control.

QUESTION;
How would it be possible to eliminate [or even, drastically reduce] lying from politics, when we are dealing with human beings [i.e. who all have a propensity to tell 'un-truths'] ?

Do you have a suggestion, that could help to improve the political arena/space, particularly with regard to politics conducted within democracies ?

The solution is simple, do what they do to every employee who is found to have lied on their job application ... sack them. I think if we become a Republic, the President, or Grand Poo Bar whoever.
Can quantify all the policies during campaigning and call another election if there are clear lies after the election.

This sounds radical now because we are all so accustomed to our pollies lying.
