It's a debatable point: religion asks why would you want to empty yur mind but meditation isn't emptying the mind to the point of nothing: it can be as simple as focusing on saying 1 to ten ... not exactly emptying the mind but decluttering so verbs or nouns I don't know or care.... Trump may create chaos (he probably will).
There is a great book on how to thrive in chaos and there is a lot of evidence that chaos is very good for systems as they reorganise in a stronger and more robust way.

i suppose berlin and tokyo were fairly chaotic in 1945, much better 50 years later.

Arent lefties supposed to embrace change.
