what are you on about Cods? Trump is the most left wing politician the yanks have had in eons, if not ever.

Sorry about the length - but this is a simple explanation.  I get a bit lost with the political system our American cousins use.

"In general, the Republican Party is often referred to as the "right wing," while "left wing" denotes the Democratic Party. So, a "right wing" Democrat would be a conservative democrat, while a "left wing" Republican would be a liberal Republican.

However, these labels are the opinions of the speaker. When a person uses jargon such as this in conversation, I've found that it is best to ask that person to describe exactly what he/she means because what it means to one person may not be the same meaning to another.

To me, this two-party system is like a balanced scale. On one side is the Democratic Party while on the other is the Republican Party. The platform of each party changes with the various elections, so one time the Democrats will promote and idea while the Republicans may champion the same idea during a different election.

The main difference between the two parties boils down to this. Democrats believe that the Federal government should ensure that every citizen should receive the same, fair treatment, as well as being responsible for "curing" the nation's ills, such as poverty.

Republicans generally believe that government should be minimized, except to provide for the common defense of the country through a strong military; this frame of reference believes that limited government would allow its citizens to address the ills of society, such as unemployment through job development.

I'm jealous of people who complain and feel sorry for themselves and are cry babies.

I think they are optomists.

i have always seen life as pretty harsh and tough and have always thought that its going to be a struggle to fulfil even some of your dreams and not end up having a mediocre life.

i fully understand where complaining, cry baby mentality and feeling sorry for yourself come from, but i feel that if i were to indulge in these behaviours, i"m not going to make it to the top of the mountain.

i see these sort of behaviours as 10kg weights in your back pack, just weighing you down.
certain optomists may think they can carry all this extra weight and still make it. But i think i'd just get stuck 1/2 way up the mountain and freeze to death.
So i'm really jealous of the optomism shown by people who think they have the time to indulge in complaining and self pity.  You have a far more positive view of the world then i do.

Also, i think they must have had an easy life where most things went right.
To cry about an election result?
Really?

My life has been so harsh that i think a member of my family would have to die before i could cry nowadays.
If you can start sobbing about Hilary losing, you must have had a great life. You mustnt have had anything go wrong   YET.....I'm jealous of you

Have you ever asked the question as to why I - an avowed right-wing conservative - opposes Trump? Has it ever occured to you or any of your other non-thinking travellers that there might be something more to leadership that mere politics? i think apathy and laziness are the larger and growing problems of today.
its always been possible to be ignorant and still thrive...pass on your DNA.
But throughout all of recorded human history, if you were lazy or apathetic, you probably would perish.
nature treats laziness and apathy as genes to be erradicated.
A horse , in nature , that was apathetic about the wolf or lazy about the wolf would be detroyed quick smart...thus ending the lazy and apthetic gene.
A horse might spook and bolt away from a chihuahua .
now you could call that horse and say...how stupid are you. But the stupidity gene doesnt affect his survival.

Nature will, i surmise, find a way to rid the planet of the apathy and laziness gene...probably during a period of chaos.
welfare, jobs for durrrr state people, chronic tv addiction, addiction to sitting on the couch, disengagement and a desire to exert onself as little as possible and just cope and "pleasure yourself"....these values (the value of the inferior mediocre man) are incompatable with evolution. i would advice strongly to resist going down the evolutionary dead end that is the mediocre welfare state
