here on planet earth , there is this thing called the marketplace which i call "reality".

and those are "the facts".

Donald just has to speak the truth.....

"my fellow americans . i am just a civil servant. think of me as a slightly higher paid version of your school principal. i am going to inspire you to make america great. i made Trump Pty Ltd great and what one man can do, all men can do.
here is what you are going to do.
Get off your fat entitled ass*es and start working and hustling like we americans have for the last 200 years .
Invent some sh*t.
Thank you.
Those who dont want to contribute by inventing some sh*t or working their ass off are , from this day forward, to be considered as garbage.
If you dont bring value to the marketplace (or as i call it reality) you are worthless.
I'll see you in 4 years. I'm off to play golf and get my hair done.
Capitalism...making america great."

You must be one of those baby boomers who all of a sudden want to retire "independant!"

Roll Eyes

Yeh, "the marketplace!"  Grin Grin

yesss.

I remember someone saying the same thing about Abbott.  Grin Grin Grin Grin

No. Abbott was only voted in because of the Labor leadership shuffle.
Very few Lib voters actually liked him.
A decent % of Trumps votes came from NOT DEMOCRAT NOT HILLARY.

And if that were so - and it isnt - then Trump would be leading in the popular vote instead of trailing by 2million - a massive margin.

Not looking very hard then. Took me all of 5 seconds to confirm Chinas is in the billions.

You might want to look a bit more carefully. China's foreign aid comes with strings - lots of them including military bases and other such things. Western forgien aid doesnt typically come with political strings. So no, foreign aid is still largely a western initiative.

I never mentioned the caveats because herby never bothered. His question was about giving foreign aid. Regardless of why they give money, the fact remains China still gives money

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

But a proper comparison really does need to discuss those attached strings. Foreign aid given in exchange for access to certain materials or ports etc is not aid per se but rather a commercial enticement or a flat-out bribe.

Bloomberg:

It's not just the S&P500/Dow that have spiked.
A Uni of Michigan survey shows that, across a number of measures, there has been a surge in hopes & expectations of both American consumers & businesses in the wake of the Trump victory.

Only to be expected of course.

Hope and confidence make a huge difference to an economy.

Without those, you are lost.
