Worst - cleaning the chainsaw

Favourite - servicing the mowers

Know the enemies of a civil society by their public behaviour, by their fraudulent claim to be liberal-progressive, by their propensity to lie and, above all, by their attachment to authoritarianism.

I was working in a lab once.

I had to sit in a small coolroom set at 5Deg C smashing frozen banana in a mortar and pestle filled with liquid nitrogen.

No one to talk to, the coolroom had a tiny little light.

I would have had 90 days doing that ,,, if I had stayed.

And you tell the young ones these days and they wont believe you!

I liked water boring, every hole is different and there is always the chance of striking a great supply.

I'm exactly the opposite. I quite enjoy cleaning the chainsaw. It's kind of relaxing getting rid of the built up gunk of sawdust and oil and sharpening the chain. Cleaning the mower OTOH, I find a pain in the arse, although using the ride on can be fun.  Smiley

I was shown the technique of water divining once and discovered I have the knack, at least for water not too far from the surface. I don't know about something 100 metres down or anything.

Its interesting Boggy.

I use power lines to detect water.

I drill as close to any power lines first, then progresivly move away from them.

Thing is if you find water you need power, so thats how I do it.

No one has been able to prove that they can do better than the hit and miss of randomness by devining.

Having said that there is something going on because I have had different people devine on my property and they both follow the same path when trying to find water.

I did better by drilling next to the power line.

Right - we had it tough -

we had to unclog sewers with our bare hands.

We dreamt of having a sewer.

I had to dig holes in the orchard and bury the can from a real thunder box.

I can still feel the sway you learn to walk with as you carry that can away from your body and at no stage get the contents sloshing up the sides.

That would have been as late as 1972

But they wont believe ya, they wont

You could see all the places I buried the cans, there would be a deep green patch of capeweed in the winter.
