Not true. In WW2 the Brisbane line followed the Murray-Darling then to Brisbane and then across to Wide Bay IIRC.  Anything West and North of the line was gone.

Modelling is now showing a Trump Presidency and a Republican controlled house.

Today is Australia's Independence Day.

Time to scrap ANZUS, kick the americans out of Pine Gap, Dump the American bases up north, Dump Britain and become a republic ... and enter this brave new world as a grown up and independent nation.

And defend this delusion how exactly.

Or is security not a problem when you're a republic?

We will be independent for all of a week, with zero allies to maintain security of the nation; so good one champ.  Grin Grin

Australia has been caught with her knickers around her ankles and you ask me how Australia will be defended !

And how will Australia defend herself when the US is attacked under your do nothing path.

IN WW2 we drew a line in the sand at Brisbane because we didn't have the power to defend anything north of it, I don't expect Kiwi blow ins to know our history.

How about we deport all welfare bludging Kiwis like you back to NZ instead of your lunacy with kicking the USA out?

Shadow boxing, and a miss.

You do realise kiwis are returning to NZ in record numbers? So much that the trans Tasman migration is to NZ? 3 years of a shambles of a govt has done that.

Trump is going to make the present shower here look good: lucky America!

Now you're making sh1t up to cover the fact what you posted is a load of sh1t.

Just answer the questions I posted without the lies and deceptive segue.

Without a an ally or two we are dead in the water, easy prey to just about anyone needing cheap resources.

That's an opinion, and not fact based.
I didn't say we will not have allies, I am just recommend equal partner allies, rather than being the bitch of the US.

That opinion is based on the fact that we are very sparsely populated, have huge easily accessed resources, and a very professional but small defence force, incapable of defending this country without assistance.

So who are we equal to and would want to be allied with us?

I presume you have thought this through and worked out hoe to defend Australia once we cut ties with our traditional allies and go out into a hostile world undefended.

States that share our values.
A good start would be regional neighbours like Indonesia and New Zealand,.

The US has today rejected many things we have taken for granted. They are no longer interested in anything outside of their country.
Delusional is believing we should sit on our hands and think they were only kidding.
