You say that like its a good thing - Not to be shackled to those who would moderate your id compulsions...

Frank wrote on Nov 4th, 2016 at 6:33pm:
This election is a choice between more of the political insiders and their rent-seekers or a go for the outsiders, no matter how gauche an unpolished they may be.

If he was running for, say, President of Fiji, I'd have no worries about him... But can you imagine someone as damaged as Trump as a US President left to his own devices?

You are all being ridiculous.  The American Constitution is not something anyone can change 'left to his own devices".

You are all deluded, you are all suffering from the usual derangement syndrome.

Too much Granuiad reading, I suspect.

Who said anything about 'changing the constitution'?

Johnson escalated a minor conflict in southeast Asia without 'changing the constitution'... Nixon (with the collusion of his effective 'co-President') had Cambodia bombed without 'changing the constitution'... Bush II initiated wars in Iraq and Afghanistan without 'changing the constitution'...

Americans love war... They prove it with their enduring contempt for Carter - one of the very few US Presidents who went out of his way to not provoke a war or embroil the US in one.

Trump suffers from narcissistic delusions... And he has indicated he'd get tough and go to war (albeit expressing it in the way a 15-year-old fantasises about getting even with the local 'badass')... Only this is a man with only his infantile fantasies to inform him... No experience... No pragmatism to restrain his damaged personality...

Just a dangerous, narcissistic man-child given the power to cause maximum damage to anyone who assaults his ego... And... Well we all know what American males with severe personality disorders can do with firepower when they feel like they're 'Falling Down'.

OK - so what war is he going to start?

Not as much as Muslims.

Look at the map.

Yes, he said it about Bush too. I remember when we were going to bring freedom and democracy to the Middle East. The old boy loved it. We were fools for merely questioning it.

The poor old boy hasn't got much left. Still, we can't say he didn't try. He gave it a go.

Thank God everyone's stopped listening. Intelligence and integrity, innnit.

.....and see whether he means what he says- rather than give Hillarty a go when you know she doesn't mean what she says.

She has been in politics for 30 years an hasn't done any of the things she is now promising.

he at least hasn't been in politics and just might do what he says-

I say, that's a relief.

But I'm curious. You seem convinced Trump will do exactly what he says, dear boy. Build thousand km-long walls, abandon every treaty and trade agreement, prevent all Muslims from entering America, make every Muslim US citizen cary around a Muslim ID card, change the US constitution, make Amerika great again, etc, etc, etc.

He might just do what he says, no?

See that's the thing about wars... They're only obvious after they've been started...

If you ask what's a possible scenario for war, the most obvious in our region is the current Chinese military expansion into the Sout China Sea.

Trump is easily the least likely candidate, given the nature of his damaged personality, to navigate the minefield of diplomacy required to manage an issue like that with China...

Then there's Russia...

Yes, I know... Trump seems to entertain some notion that Putin is like an old school mate who just needs to be understood and shown some appreciation... Like that stupid bastard who decided he could live with bears... That bears were his buddies... Until he was eaten by one... Putin is an ex-Soviet KGB agent and a Russian uber-nationalist whose loyalty is completely with Russia (as you'd expect given he's the Russian President)... He also wants a showdown with NATO...

This kind of world is no place for a narcissist nutjob conman who has failed at everything except blowing other people's money.

The difference is between how people intend to vote and who they think will win.

More people intend to vote for Trump and more think Hillary will win.

Call that the 'media effect'.

This will be the biggest **CK You in history, as Michael Moore says.

A climb down? Not at all!

The US has almost continually been at war since 1941...

Their economy is chained to it... Hence Eisenhower's "Military-Industrial complex"... And what he really wanted to say was "Military-Industrial-Congressional complex" but was warned that that was a step too far.

The American psyche is founded on war (always a risk if a country founds itself of violent revolution)... And glorious victory... which is why that  nation does not learn what it needs to when suffering defeat...

The American family psyche is infected with interminable memories of ancestors that have been deified by war... It stands to reason and not much of a surprise that such a people in such a nation has a hunger for war that rivals even the Romans.

Americans hunger for war?? You are deranged.

Or else France must also love and hunger for war, like China, Russia, Spain, England, Scotland, Poland, Israel, etc, etc.

You didn't answer the question, dear.

How do you know Trump will do everything he says when he's got no record in government? You seem to think this is some kind of qualification.

You know, like a Graduate Diploma of Stool Studies from the prestigious University of Balogney.

No no, old boy, YOU hunger for war. You've been perstering Uncle to go to war since the last one, and the one before that. Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Palestine, Labia.

Lose weight now - ask me how, no?

At vcarious points in its history, the US economy gears around war. War is the economic pump primer of the US economy. Great Depression - WWII. The early 80s recession - Star Wars. 1987 stockmarket crash - invasion of Panama, the Gulf War. 2000 recession - invasion of Afghanistan & Iraq. 2007 financial crisis -

The rise of Trump.

Trump is a protectionist. US manufacturing is on the wane. Trump hardly plans to nationalize industry. The one stimulus available to Trump is the Military Industrial Complex.

Trump won't win the erection, but as the old boy points out, Trump's not going anywhere.
