Yes I remember my father in law who suffered from "shell shock" they called it from WW2, even many years later poor bastard would almost collapse in fright if someone made a sudden noise.

I also wonder if todays more sedentary lifestyle at work and home may contribute to the inability to get over war related PTSD. I think hard physical work or exercise certainly helps with stress related problems.

Not sure, before I make that sort of judgement, I'd like to see the evidence showing its increased with the recent wars.
