I know that my husband and I are both very interested in each other ie how we feel, how we think etc.

Depends on the age group I suppose

Depends on how much water's gone under the bridge

Depends on what's going on in the relationship

those sorts of things

Sounds cynical, but to be suspected is that men tolerate the whole relationship thing for sex

and women tolerate sex for the sake of the relationship

I think they generally are but there are limits depending on what is happening in the relationship.

IE: If my wife has the sh*ts with me, she doesn't give a stuff. However there is always a risk the lack of satisfaction could lead to straying and I think some women, not all, are conscious of this.

However I think we men have evolved (well some of us) to overcome the need to stray (unless you watch cheaters then this may not be true)

However I think that women care more then men about partner satisfaction.

women are turned on by alpha male characteristics
confidence, non neediness, a man who has a mission in life and doesnt make the woman his number 1 priority.

women are repulsed by provider male , beta male characteristics, supplicating to the woman, being apologetic, being jealous, being clingy..these are female characteristics and a woman is unattracted to them.

so a guy who is beaten down by his woman...ie , if he is weak and does not stand up to her, she will lose attraction for him and probably treat him badly with regards sex.

the same woman , however, who will putz shame a weak man and humiliate him, will be nervous to offend and obsess over a guy who shows strong masculine energy.
If such a guy withdraws a bit from the woman, if he is a bit icey and gets her chasing, she will want him and need his validation. She will go "over and beyond" to try to satisfy him.

This is just human nature .

The hungry never get fed, the rich get rich and poor get poorer. There is very little that is "fair" or "logical" about all of this. You are simply naive if you buy into the group think social narrative which is really designed to exploit the provider male.
