Click on the heading in Bam's post AP....

Uh huh, I did not see that. Thought it was just bold text in a fancy colour, not a link.

I posted an article with a prominent link that was not recognised as such by another poster and that may have caused some misunderstanding. The link formatting is nonstandard and this has caused similar issues in the past. I think the link formatting needs to be changed so it is more easily recognisable as a link.

Instead of undecorated maroon text, the text should be some shade of blue and underlined, so it looks more like links on the majority of web sites.

I see you have to modify the link to add colour

If you edit your profile and change to "blue flags" template your links are always in blue so no action required.

Tough!

Dont be bloody pedantic, if you want to fart around when posting a link to add colour and underlining go for it!

I prefer the KISS principle!

Fair enough, not your fault Aussie, I was just unsure of how he did this.

After seeing whats involved I feel its too much trouble.

Maybe freediver should write to the YabbForum mod site if he thinks it worth pursuing as a mod to insert the underlining and colour.

The BBcode tags are finicky. Sometimes they need to be applied to the text in a certain order or else formatting can be lost. For example, if you try to make a coloured link by (color)(url)(/url)(/color), the (color) is lost because the (url) tag overrides it.

that does not work - (color)(url)(/url)(/color).

Example
that works - (url)(color)(/color)(/url).

Everyone will unless the word 'link' is used.

Link.

If I did it like this they may well  not know.

IF anyone has a problem "formatting stuff" on this Forum ... there happens to be a very comprehensive HELP file, right here. Just look up there under the word HELP. Under YaBBC Reference.   Wink

You need to go down the page a bit .......  Smiley
