Don't lose it cobber. I'm just a mod. If you get a groundswell of support to have me removed for whatever, do it. No, it's not a job I asked for but I will do what I think I am supposed to do.

Not "on" here much lately, so was unaware of the CALL for new mods.

I am happy for Setanta to fill that role as I have always found him to be a reasonable person. As for Big Vic, that is OK too, as I don't have much to do with this forum anymore.
I get sick of being the target of men who hate women who have their own lives and opinions. Very tiresome, but I didn't complain and NO MOD did anything about it.

So Setanta and Big Vic.. a question for you both.

IF a person is being trolled and abused re their views and gender and age, does that person HAVE TO COMPLAIN.?

Do the Mods only pay attention to the "squeaky wheels"?"

Personally I really don't get bothered by the abuse, it means nothing except to expose the abusers for the turds they are ...... I just find it difficult to continue posting when all I get is ridiculous comments from some posters in reply. It gets boring and takes away any credibility the topic may have had at the start. It degrades the forum into an opportunity to abuse people, sadly.

So?? Must I complain about this before the Mods notice?.

I have asked FD to respond to me on one topic, on the record, but was ignored. Should I have PM 'd him about his failure to respond.? When I wanted it on the record for all who bothered , to see.?

Wouldn't mind a reply from someone.

For me, at this stage, yes. Unfortunately I read no-where near every thread. I doubt any of us could, it'd be a full time job.

well of course I have no clout here emma.. and being female I guess neither have you...however I do believe calling anyone other than their id is insulting in some folks eyes....it will depend on the person you chose to do that too I do think giving someone a silly name is a little childish if one want to be taken serious on this forum...thats just me...I am sure the mods will find nothing wrong with it unless they get a complaint...

its when the gmods start to abuse you that you need to worry emma....

other than that just give back what you get.....and hope the mods take into account exactly why you said what you said.. after all it takes two to tango...and I am almost sure that isnt always the case.

Hi Emma - for me - I am on here a fair bit as I am now retired after a few decades in the RAN. I enjoy these boards but as stated before, I may not get the chance to view the total postings each day. I have now 4 grandchildren to keep amused and, as we look after two each day whilst Mum works, I may find my time on here limited! After 30 years I am now coming to grips with bottles and nappies again - I think sometimes I would rather be back in Darwin!

As for your main question, trolling and abuse seem to be the realm of only a few on here - but I agree it can be onerous and unenjoyable. From my perspective I can only do what I see - so please advise if you wish

The fact ozzzzz is pissed off he can not manipulate his preferred choice is enough for me to know the right decision was made. Cool

How about everyone just give these two a fair go and see how they go? I screached that Andrei was a poor choice when he was made a G mod and I think I was proven wrong. Think of it this way ozzzzzz, it could have been worse, FD could have appointed me. Cool
