I'm not debating Malcolms right to make the call, but surely its reasonable to say why he doesnt think Kevin was appropriate.

Volatile temper. Failed PM. Failed Foreign Minister. Not respected by Chinese. Incompetent. Take your pick.

Nah. I'd sooner choose from ACTUAL VALID reasons, not ideology-based lies put-about by cretins.

Strangely, when one goes looking for ACTUAL VALID reasons to reject him, one comes up empty-handed.

Rudd was never going to get the job anyway. No way the Chinese would've allowed it. Not after his comments about them.

How many of the 12 candidates can speak to the Chinese in their own language?

There are more people in the world than just the Chinese bam

I find it funny that Shorten and Plibersek, are trying to turn this into a party political issue.  I can remember not so long ago when both parties wanted to see the back of him and Labor killed him off as PM and replaced him because he wasn't up to it and lets not forget all the nice things that were said of him at the time.
Most recently Garrett called him a megalomaniac, and Keneally called him a psychopathic narcissist...  even suggesting her dog would do a better job. So who are labor kidding...?

Well at least Turnbull has managed to get one thing right since he conned his way into office.

What does that say about the ALP? He's not good enough to lead this country or their party but he's good enough to lead the UN?

Best news so far today.
Really thought Turnbull would give him the nod

Why do we have to have one?
Why do we belong at all?
It's a waste of time & money

Well, while we do belong (and no Australian Government will withdraw) why not have one of ours as Secretary General?  It would raise our international profile, and provide entry into places of influence, at least.

Nah, Turnbull, for petty, pathetic, party political bullshit would rather we not even have a candidate for the UN to consider.

Bad decision.
