Probably two answers.

First we had "Enlightenent" which engendered the progression of liberal philosophy, including the principle of tolerance.

I would lile to know what the leftard-approved course of action is. It seems to be one of endless appeasement and submission but itd be nice if they could commit to it, insead of hand wringing over potential (justified) revenge attacks that never materialize. They hand-wring with the best of them, but arent so strong at taking action.

people like Le Pen really are gaining momentum and it is a classic feedback loop.

the more the islamists attack, the more the hardliners like Le Pen gain traction, leading to more division, leading to more incidents and so the cycle continues.

It would appear multiculturalism ( the brave new world policy of the left ) is in its death throes.
But the interesting fact is that Le Pen and Gert Wilders and Pauline and Donald did not kill it,

And the more they try to hold these 2 opposite and untenable positions, the more these positions crumble.
