Matthew 13:24
Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25  But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26  But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27  So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28  He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29  But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30  Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Matthew 13:36
Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
37  He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
38  The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39  The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
40  As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

Matthew 13:47
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
48  Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.

Luke 3:8
Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
9  And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

We are the gold and silver which our creator is refining, in our choices.

2 Corinthians 6:16
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Isaiah 48:10
Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

How much blame are you apportioning to your God, Yadda?

Our lives, are full of our own choices, and our own consequences, greggery.

Who should we hold to account for those consequences greggery ?

We are supposed to be smart enough.

We are created smart enough.

......to be able to learn from our repeated poor choices.

Some of us simply refuse to repent, and be sorry, for our mistakes.

God is clever.

In our own habits and choices in this life, we have 'self sorted' ourselves.

Separating the precious from the vile.

Matthew 7:19
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Luke 3:9
And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

I blame the perpetrator. Always do.

We're not talking about me, though.

The Islamophobes in here (the apologists) are always saying that we must apportion blame.

And, naturally, they apportion most of the blame to Islam.

Now, how much blame should you God-botherers apportion to Christianity (God) for allowing this attack to happen in the first place?  To a priest! In a Church!!

Why didn't God protect this poor old fella?

You know that, and I now that.

However, I specifically said the "God-botherers".

They believe in God, and my question is to them, not atheists or agnostics.

They honestly believe that God (whatever that thing is) exists, and has the power to make things happen.

So, if he is such a great God, why did he allow a priest to have his throat slit in a Church?

None of the God-botherers seem to have an answer.

Funny that.

The way I look at it is that the concept of god is creation and source. God is not management, although the opposite is often thought to apply.

As I said to you at the start Greg, if there is a god, it does not cause such things to happen or sanction them. People have free will and they do it all by themselves.

greggery,

Is the God of Israel and 'interventionist' God ?

Absolutely he is!

Myself, I do not know why the God of Israel allowed the slaying of this priest.

In any case, this physical life of man is like a vapour, it is like a morning mist, it is like a green leaf.

Our body, is but the dust of the earth.

When i leave this body, i will be glad, it will be a good day [imo].

Ah, no.

You won't be able to feel any emotions at all - you'll be dead.

So certain are you!         Smiley

When i leave this body,    for the final time,    i will be glad, it will be a good day [imo].

One of the central messages at the foundation of Christianity is that people choose to do evil, and God will allow people to act on the evil in their heart until the day of judgement. This man who killed this priest did evil and will one day be judged for it. That's what Christianity holds to, so there is no need for a loss of faith.

Of course, had you ever read a history book and ever read the bible (like you claim to have) you would know this.

Just so, Quantum.

37  He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
38  The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

I blame the perpetrator. Always do.

We're not talking about me, though.

The Islamophobes in here (the apologists) are always saying that we must apportion blame.

And, naturally, they apportion most of the blame to Islam.

Now, how much blame should you God-botherers apportion to Christianity (God) for allowing this attack to happen in the first place?  To a priest! In a Church!!

Why didn't God protect this poor old fella?

God didn't protect him for the same reason he wasn't protected by the easter bunny,  santa clause ...

Funny that.

So finally you agree there's no such thing as moderate Muslims.

No.

Quite the opposite - I know several moderate Muslims.
