A terrible event, and I feel for the family of that poor dead priest.

However, what sort of God would let a priest be killed in such a horrific manner, in a Church?

Surely this makes people question their faith   Undecided

This looks like another one of Svengalis reincarnations.

Makes you wonder hey.

Totally insane and not ontopic.

"not ontopic" ?

I think you're in the wrong thread, darling.
It isn't breath. You went from a priest getting his throat slit to questioning the Christian faith. From relevant to irrelevant.

When you introduce religion, it's relevant yet, when others introduce religion it isn't relevant?

Oh no my boy, it doesn't work that way.

You and your fellow Islamophobes are all about "apportioning blame", so I'll play your game.

How much blame do we apportion to God for letting this happen?

A priest, in a Church, FFS!

What was God doing when this poor bugger was having his throat slit - chasing Pokemon?

Yadda, "Why afford protection etc etc"?
Good question.

Probably two answers.

First we had "Enlightenent" which engendered the progression of liberal philosophy, including the principle of tolerance.

Second, The Enlightenment, funnily enough, was soon followed by several centuries of religious wars that left deep scars in the European tradition and reinforced again the wisdom of tolerance AMONG OURSELVES.

And now we are hung up on tolerance to the extent that it includes those who wish to kill us, as well as those who wish to undermine the foundations of a civilised society in many ways.

bogarde73,

I would still maintain that it is illogical,         .....and it is beyond belief that we [as a collective community] feel such a degree of servile timidity towards the possibility that we may offend anyone,           .....that we are now struck with a moral paralysis, regarding [among other things] the legal status of moslems [followers of ISLAM] in nations like Australia.

Moslems, unashamedly!!!,        .....are members of a formal community of people [the nation of ISLAM], a group whose laws, collectively sanctions and encourages, what are criminal actions and behaviour [by our laws].

And we are happy with this circumstance, and actually protect [in law!] this community of wanna-be criminals !!! ?

I am appalled.

QUESTION;

Australia!!!!
Why would we choose to afford a group of people [i.e. moslems] a general protection in law [e.g. Constitution, section 116],      ....simply because that group of people [i.e. moslems] assert and insist that they are members of a 'religious group', and therefore they must be afforded all protections in law, that are normally afforded to members of a religious group ???

QUESTION;
Why, afford followers of ISLAM, a special protection in law,    ....when many of the protocols of that 'religion' [ISLAM], call for their followers to engage criminal violence against anyone who does not believe, as they believe ?

Affording such a protection [in law], to a group of people who follow a philosophy like ISLAM,        .....is insanity, imo !!!

One could say god was trying to get these dumb honky cucks to wake up and repel the invaders.  A 92 year old priest is a small price to pay.

I wonder how long before a mosque is now targeted. I'll give it two weeks MAXIMUM.

After all what's happened in France there has been no major revenge attack.  Says a lots about the patience of the French.

Patience or cowardice?
Anyway, you're right that no matter what these nutters do there's no revenge attacks. So what are the leftards carrying on about then?

I would lile to know what the leftard-approved course of action is.  It seems to be one of endless appeasement and submission but itd be nice if they could commit to it, insead of hand wringing over potential (justified) revenge attacks that never materialize.  They hand-wring with the best of them, but arent so strong at taking action.

If Hollande said the perp was a Muzlim, I might agree with you. But he doesn't. He infers that IS is the problem. They are only part of it. The inspiration of IS is the problem. Its all in the Koran.

Hollande prefers to use the weasel-word "Daesh' rather than risk votes by using the 'I' word or the 'M' word.

"Daesh has declared war on us, we must fight this war by all means, while respecting the rule of law, what makes us a democracy," he told reporters at the scene".

You've got to laugh. Here's the president of a country under siege from a virulent form of Islam and yet he dare not say its name.

It's just so embarrassingly pathetic.

Needless to say, if Hollande was sincere in what he says about fighting this, then he would order that every Muslim on the Security Watch List should immediately be interned in detention camps until further notice.

Well it's all to the good. It might play into Le Pen's hands or at least to Sarkozy. And maybe he will do better next time around.

But I'm sure there are still some descendants of the sans culottes out there who will deliver a version of justice in coming weeks.

He needs to give up aspirations at keeping power.  Le pen has it, he cannot pull it back no matter what he does.  But if he doesnt accept this fact, there wont be a country left to govern by election time.

Well, they don't really want this to end because they gain moral superiority every time some nutter kills people.

people like Le Pen really are gaining momentum and it is a classic feedback loop.

the more the islamists attack, the more the hardliners like Le Pen gain traction, leading to more division, leading to more incidents and so the cycle continues.

It would appear multiculturalism ( the brave new world policy of the left ) is in its death throes.
But the interesting fact is that Le Pen and Gert Wilders and Pauline and Donald did not kill it,

No, not at all.

It was or will be killed off by the islamists.(who are also the darlings of the left).

The left must be simpletons not to realise this.
And the more they try to hold these 2 opposite and untenable positions, the more these positions crumble.

in fact, ISIS and Le pen are in a symbiotic relationship,
Dark days for the left.
Stupidity will do this to you every time.
Unwinding 40 or 50 years of stupidity could take 40 or 50 years or it may actually disintegrate into a form of civil war.

the longer the leadership remain inactive against the weeds, the more they spread.
1 years weed= 7 years seed.
they have a massive clean up ahead of them and they should have started yesterday

The problem for france is that their armed forces are about as french as their soccer team,  so they cannot be trusted to do what must be done, as  their loyalties lie elsewhere.
