Sorry to jump at the 18th page without following any of the discussion, but...

Is there anything besides his name and (presumably) ethnic background which links this attack in any way to Islam?

Serious question - as I haven't seen any reports of him doing stuff like pledging loyalty to ISIS/Islamic jihadists, releasing any sort of message about fighting for Islam, meetings with radical sheikhs, Islamist propaganda on his phone/laptop etc etc...

Admittedly I haven't been following this closely, but has there been anything at all?

For you and the fellow apologists and cultists it wouldnt matter, no matter the proof, because the default position is always got nuffin to do wiv Islam and they were not reaaaaaaal Muslims.

The best thing to do would be to take ownership of the jihadis.

When I go on holidays and see Aussie yobos abroad, I don't pretend they're not Aussies. If I'm with people from other countries I don't try to say they're not Australians.

They're Aussie through and through, and so am I.
I like chamber music and galleries, other Aussies like VB and thugby league.

I'm yet to see anyone say that Christian fundies are not Christians.

Why does this ONLY happen with Islamists?

I'm saying you and Gordon are known to lie.

Who was the "expert", and what exactly did he say?

I'm with you, gandalf. I'm finding all this Islamophobic hysteria quite nauseating.

Witnesses reported he was yelling 'Allahu Akbar' as he drove the truck through the crowd, but maybe they just imagined this.

Come on guys and gals, let's help Gandalf out here.

It's quite possible the accelerator pedal got stuck to the floor, and maybe he really was delivering ice cream just as he told the police.

As for the gun he was firing, it's my guess he was only trying to warn people ahead to get out of the way.

In the final wash-up, when all this Islamophobic hysteria has died down, I bet this guy will prove to have been a pillar of society with not a nasty bone in his body.

The Islamic State terror group has claimed responsibility for the truck attack in Nice,

France, that left 84 people dead, according to ISIS-affiliated Amaq news agency.

RT's LIVE UPDATES on the truck attack in Nice

“The person who carried out the operation in Nice, France, to run down people was one of the soldiers of Islamic State,” Amaq said via its Telegram account.

“He carried out the operation in response to calls to target nationals of states that are part of the coalition fighting Islamic State.”

Sorry, but haven't heard any mention of mosque attendance, just a vague statement by the French PM that he "may" have been radicalised "very quickly".

Whilst true that ISIS has called for lone wolf attacks, to the extent they even recommended methods including running infidels over, I wouldn't take them claiming credit as the same as them having prior knowledge of an intention of action.
