It doesn't help that we have knee-jerk defenders of Islam. Or maybe they just hate Christianity so much that they're programmed to respond this way.

Prime Minister Manuel Valls: “We will not give in to the terrorist threat. The times have changed and France is going to have to live with terrorism.”

LIVE WITH terrorism? If that's your stance, the terrorists have already won.

All I heard on the TV news last night was the use of the No Name Brand generic "Terrorism" and "Terrorists". God forbid this should have anything to do with Islam, or Muslim immigrants.

Regarding your last sentence, that was my view. But it's changed.

If he's elected, Trump wants to declare war and hit ISIS hard. I agree. And it should be noted in this context that Trump has been critical of bush jnrs invasion of Iraq

Different ball game now.

If we learn nothing more from history, let it be this - Religion is ineradicable.

The notion that the west is going to confront and 'wipe out' Islam is so dangerously naive as to warrant disqualification from political office of anyone who believes that delusion.

Peoples fight hardest for what they hold sacred... The Irish largely surrendered their language over 400 years but fought to the death to keep their faith. The English (and later the British) fought for 300+ years to eradicate Catholicism in England / Britain. The Catholic Europeans fought for 300+ years to eradicate Protestantism from Europe. The Protestant Europeans fought for 300+ years to eradicate Catholicism.

Islam is a religion and a political ideology (no need to have a royal commission to establish that... Nobody doubts it) and is fanatically and murderously defended in a way that Henry VIII, Mary I and Oliver Cromwell would have recognised.

Jihadists are fighting an asymmetric battle to goad the west into an overreach of Armageddon's proportion. They know (as we should know from history) an attempt to eradicate a major religion will trigger a medieval-style 'Holy War' only this time both sides will be using 21st century weapons.

Yes that is a relief. They might have had to classify the 84 dead as victims of islamic terrorism and that would look bad statistically.

Better hope nobody asks if a lone nut with no ties can kill 84 inmocents, what sort of bodycount could an organized bunch of fanatics achieve?

what is islamic?????....

are they saying he isnt /wasnt a Muslim?....

we have invented a few words now to describe terrorism..... and they seem to be misused...

terrorists come from all walks of life....and until one writes a book on what makes a terrorist....we can only guess cant we?>.

lets not forget the days of yore when burning witches was the norm.....and mass head loping in the market square was legal......

this was not that long ago..... sub humans have always had evil intentions...

we read history and say that could never happen today... Roll Eyes
