Coalition Undermining Starts
Jul 14th, 2016 at 3:11pm

Eric Abetz, coalition super senator has knives out for Mal.  As reported in the USA, no wonder they are only sending out the 2nd in Charge, Obama can't risk a possible knife attack in a Coalition Leadership coup!

"CANBERRA, Australia — Australia’s prime minister came under pressure from his own lawmakers on Thursday to revise his economic agenda after his weakened coalition scraped through one of the nation’s closest ever elections.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s center-right Liberal Party lost at least 14 lawmakers, including some of Turnbull’s key moderate supporters, in knife-edge polls on July 2 that left the coalition with a majority of only one or two seats in the House of Representatives where parties form government. Some mail-in votes are still being counted.

Some government lawmakers blame the surprise swing against the government partly on plans to increase taxes on the pension funds of wealthy Australians.

Such public criticism of official policy from government lawmakers is rare and proof that the election victory has not healed deep rifts in the administration’s ranks
.

L
iberal Party Senator Eric Abetz, who was demoted from cabinet
when Turnbull became prime minister less than a year ago, said Turnbull must consider changing the pension fund tax plans and other policies when government lawmakers meet on Monday.

“When you’ve just had such a big kick up the pants as we’ve just had as a coalition ... I think it is worthwhile to ask the question: Why did we hemorrhage ... so many votes, ... is there are lesson to be learnt and would the Australian people actually want us to recalibrate some of those policies?” Abetz told Australian Broadcasting Corp.

Ohhh don't you worry Vic, they're still warming up

about the OP.

Mal would be mad to back down now, he's already suffered the public backlash from this and still won the election.

For him to back down would mean it was all for nothing. It would only alienate more moderate voters who are sick of the pandering to the extreme right in the liberal party

I agree Smithie, I think you are right on all counts. He really must now stand up against the RWNJ's in his party and push through his own agenda.......... or go down trying. At least then people could at least start to respect the man again. And if the nutters get control of the party again and bring back the mad monk, it's still a win for Labor.

All I'll say is that if the RWNJ's get Abbott back in charge (not out of the question seeing they are being delusional about an Abbott lead election result)

A woman married three times walked into a bridal shop one day and told the sales clerk that she was looking for a wedding gown for her fourth wedding.
"Of course, madam," replied the sales clerk, "exactly what type and colour dress are you looking for?"
The bride to be said: "A long frilly white dress with a veil."

The sales clerk hesitated a bit, then said, "Please don't take this the wrong way, but gowns of that nature are considered more appropriate for brides who are being married the first time - for those who are a bit more innocent, if you know what I mean? Perhaps ivory or sky blue would be nice?"

"Well," replied the customer, a little peeved at the clerk's directness, "I can assure you that a white gown would be quite appropriate. Believe it or not, despite all my marriages, I remain as innocent as a first-time bride.

You see, my first husband was so excited about our wedding, he died as we were checking into our hotel. My second husband and I got into such a terrible fight in the limo on our way to our honeymoon that we had that wedding annulled immediately and never spoke to each other again."

"What about your third husband?" asked the fascinated sales clerk.
"That one was a Liberal," said the woman. "Every night for three years, he sat on the edge of the bed and told me how good it was going to be, but nothing ever happened."

A lot of Turnbull supporters lost their seats so Mal had better watch his back....If the Coalition go back on their election commitments again the electorate will punish them again ensuring they suffer a humiliating defeat at the next election....Turnbull has not got as big a trust issue as Abbott but more back flips and dithering will ensure his time as PM will be short lived!!!

Mothra and some other girls here will be glad to hear that. I get the metaphor but I'm not happy about it's premise.

If "Some government lawmakers blame the surprise swing against the government partly on plans to increase taxes on the pension funds of wealthy Australians" they are barking mad. The wealthy only have one vote and I doubt the rest of us put their comfort over ourselves.

Looks like Turnbull is going to cave in to the right.

Leader of the House Christopher Pyne also said some of the "finer details" had to be worked out.

"There's going to be a party process, a Cabinet process for the superannuation changes," he told Channel Nine this morning.

The overall policy remains the same, but in framing that final policy before it goes to legislation, there may well be some tinkering around the edges. That's perfectly normal."

I was hoping Turnbull may have grown some balls after winning an election in his own right. But it doesn't look like he has

Turnbull is a weak leader leading a divided government.

Drowning Lefties clutching at straws.

Then, it is understandable, as their hero Shorty is a big disappointment and, to top it all off, the Labor Party decides to keep this creepy bloke.

Shifty Shorty will keep the Labor Party in Opposition for the next 20 years because Shorty is simply unelectable because his shifty mug makes voters feel nervous about trusting something that looks like that.

...
Would you trust this creepy bloke as far as you could throw him ?

Wot's got the Welfare dependent Lefties really revved up is the expected slashing and burning of Welfare required to save Australia's AAA credit rating.

The WELFARE SCARE to match Labor's Medicare FRAUD ?
